Yeah, I know he meant that model of ram, but I was under the impression the pc16000 hyperX use Elpida Hyper IC's. Corsair managed to identify the faulty Hyper IC batches, but AFAIK Kingston did not attempt to do this - I know of people who's kits died, and so did the replacement kit, and the next replacement kit etc.

Tiger has them for $345.00 6gb . Also I was thinking the same thing on Killers Kingston HyperX . I would run memtest 1 stick at a time for a minimum of 1hr. for each stick. If they all pass I would then test the Rampage II dim slots one at a time for 25 minutes minimum for each dim slot .
I have run them up to DDR3-1800 MHz 6-6-4-20 1T tRFC 60 and DDR3-1826 MHz 6-7-4-20 tRFC 60 @ 1.76v on a Rampage Extreme (Here) but they perform better on an X58 than X48. That voltage is bench only too I wouldnt recommend it for 24/7. They easily do DDR3-1600 6-7-6-18 1T @ <1.60v on X58.

There is nothing wrong with my ram. I meant the qpi, etc is now touchy compared to when i had the c0 in. I ran memtest86+ for 1hour 30 minutes it was fine with no errors. I think it maybe just the r2e reaching the blck limits causing weird things to happen.

boot with power off => problem
boot without power off => no problem

no problem with the bios 1504

same here. Tho i dont think it's because of the ram speed. Atleast for me it aint. I get cold boot when i set the qpi volt somewere over 1.4v if i use any other bios than 1502 or 1504.

This board really does apelle to me I have been looking at it for a while now.
I am just about to jump in boots and all and buy this boad and the corsair 1866 C7 ram.
I will using core i7 and will be water cooling the cpu and ram as well.
I have read the first 20 odd pages of this tread and the last 4, yeah I know theres a heap of good info in between, however, I am running low on time at the moment.

The challenge I have is, is this mobo stable, I hear a lot of challenges with cold boot and other problems.
I would love to do some high oc, but really would just be happy running at 4GHz 24/7.

Also I intend to buy the mobo from the US, namely newegg as this mobo is still around the $480.00AU + is the cheapest here in OZ.
What are the chances of getting a B3 from newegg?
Bottom line is I don't know squat when it come to OCing but I am keen to learn.

4.0GHz is pretty easy on this board. B3 i'm not sure, perhaps you can call newegg and get them to read the code off to you. I'm having issues because i'm at 4.6GHZ and the board i think is maxed. But anything back down is fine. Chip still has a bit left it in i think but i will see when the evga 760 arrives. Could be a error on my part with the wall but it seems to be about the same for everyone else on this board also though.

I am 100% 6 hr p95 stable bios v1639 at 4.63Ghz , NB 3.528Ghz ( Turbo Enabled ) . I owned the board for a week now . This is my first Intel platform . As I type this p95 is running at 221 X 21 = 4.651Ghz @ 1.4375V ( Turbo Enabled ) . I have had zero cold boot issues with bios v1639 . I just updated bios today to v1704 and still zero cold boot issues . I give the board a thumbs up so far for the short time I have worked on it with an Intel i7 920 Do stepping . I want to add I am using my old Corsair Dominator BEMP AMD black edition 12800/1600 memory C8 . I am running the memory @ 1329Mhz . Looking forward to more positive results with the Dominator 1866 C7 this week . Again I only have had this board for one week but I am a top AMD over clocker and so far this board gets a big thumbs up !!! Purchased from Newegg part# on the my box is 90-MIB6L0-G0AAY00Z , Serial # first six is 9BM0AC . In bios Advanced Chipset Northbridge I have a B3 Board . Best success to you kgtiger .........

I am ordering the parts for my core i7 build. I will be pairing this mobo with a 920. I am trying to make my way through all of the threads but there are quite a few. I was wondering how the chipset and SB do with the stock cooling? I have a very well ventilated case but I have a couple of small fans if they are needed. I will definitely replace the stock TIM as I have always found that to be lacking.

Running p95 100% load right now @ 4.651Ghz & 1.4375V , core temp reports 68c highest core & 60c lowest core . Rampage poster reporting NB 42c & SB 35c , ambient temp right now is 22c . So even if the boards poster is off a bit on reporting the temps on the chipset they would still be acceptable for stock chipset cooling .

P95 is useless for cpu stability on i7. Only large ffts for qpi volt stability.

So far with my testing of these components I would have to disagree with you . With AMD p95 was my go to stability test . Its been dependable with my new Intel platform I'm running as well . You see where I am at on my over clock . All my games are 100% stable as well . Surprising to here your comment on p95 on a i7 !

I repeat, run a Linpack based program. 15-20 runs on max mem and u can call it stable...

I have been trying custom blend, setting 4000-5000mb to test, this seems to work well. Default blend uses 1600mb mem to test which is not enough to test stability IMO when you have 6gb of system memory. But everyone has there own way they prefer to test stability.
On S775 quads, and also the 1156 i7's running blend for 8hrs required higher voltages to pass than linX, using 4gb of mem. However on this platform standard blend is easy to pass compared to linx.

Anyone heard of any issues with RIIE and the CAS 9 DDR3-2000 G.Skill Rijpaws?

I've got 2 sets of these that I'll be cannibalizing: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...81&Tpk=ripjaws

Figure if they work fine with 6GB I'll snag another 4GB set for 12GB total (same as getting 2 triple channel kits I guess )

I had them for P55 but switching to X58 for my 24/7 rig.

Good looking out OC Nub , looks good , appreciate it . Okay I knew my clocks were stable but I ran the LinX 20 times and I really like it !!! It stressed my i7 920 & memory more then p95 . Good looking out JoeBar & OC Nub , appreciate it ! With Turbo / 1866 C7 coming Monday !

I have had this board for a few days and I over clocked it to 20 bclk for 4.410Ghz easy I might add , Turbo enabled ! I went to 221 bclk and stable BUT I find that I lose performance at 221 bclk . This being my first Intel ever I am going to have to get down and dirty to figure out and continue this over clock beyond 220 bclk , turbo dissabled . I tried cpu pll at 1.88v , I tried IOH 2.4V , I tried different memory timings , backing off NB , backing off qpi , all the bios setting that can possibly help our oc . My memory I'm running is for AMD but I know from experience I get any memory to run in any rig but I'm hoping the new 1866 C7 X58 memory will help me out . Turbo I found out is useless lol . Any time I get a new mother board I always oced it to see what Im working with . This board I have not done that . If I don't get results over 20 bclk with the new memory I am going to have to over clock the boards bclk and see if that is the limit . Any input brothers please drop in . Let me just say this was the best move ever going Intel for me !!! EDIT: A light bulb went off in my head this morning . I have been testing with HT disabled . I am thinking to go over 220 bclk HT will need to be enabled . When I get some time today I will put this theory to work .

Thank you KILLER_K and pcnazz for your positive words I do appreciate it and I think I will be placing my order tomorrow!

Thank you also JoeBar for sharing the idea of run a Linpack based program.
Thanks also to OC Nub for the link.
1 hour to me is beter than say 10 for the same result.

After reading Vapor's [Review] on Indigo Xtreme vs. AS5, MX-2, IC Diamond, Shin-Etsu X23-7783D.
[Review] Indigo Xtreme vs. AS5, MX-2, IC Diamond, Shin-Etsu X23-7783D
I bought some, (of cause no one sells it here in OZ at the moment) $20.00 for just two applications in not cheap at all.
But I feel if I am going to spend a bucket load of coin on some of the best hardware TIM is as good as any place to drop some more.

Have any of you tried Indigo Xtreme before?
If so have your temps droped?

Your welcome Kgtiger . For you tistou77 the best way to test your memory with memtest is to test one stick at a time . Testing them all at once a slightly bad stick can sneak by . Test one stick at a time in the correct dim slot for one stick . I would run at least three memtest passes each stick . I just tweaked my memory to 1766Mhz 9C . Running good and feels a bit more snappy compared to 1323 C8 . I could actually buy a pair of these and run 12gb . Would be an inexpensive good move . I really wish the i7 920 multi was unlocked . I am not to happy about the 220 BCLK limitation on the Rampage II Extreme . I know this cpu wants more but the board is holding me back . I like the board to , coming from an AMD Crosshair III Formular ROG but man oh man the 220 BCLK is a joke and I here we are lucky to even get 220 BCLK . Many are saying they are getting 210 to 212 BCLK . Funny us enthusiast , I just came from AMD and am getting twice the speed and Im still not content . What it is though is knowing that there is more to be had but cant get at it , lol . My best bet is get the 2000 C8 Dominators I think . Not for my pocket though , lol .
