[MOD] HAF 932 AMD Extreme Edition

Coolermaster HAF 932 AMD Extreme Edition

The Base: Coolermaster HAF 932 AMD Edition

    Hardware:
    - Asus Crosshair III Formula
    - AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition, 125W
    - 2x XFX HD 5850 Black Edition
    - Coolermaster Silent Power 1000Watt
    - HDD (unknown)

    Cooling:
    1x EK-Coolstream RAD XT 360
    1x EK-Coolstream RAD XT 480
    2x EK-Multioption reservoir 400
    1x EK-Supreme HF - Acetal + Nickel
    1x EK-FB Asus Crosshair 3 Black Acetal + Nickel
    2x EK-FC5850 Acetal + Nickel
    2x EK-FC5870 RAM Backplate - Black Acetal
    2x EK-DCP 4.0 (12V DC pump)
    2x Dyna Ace Fan's, 225cfm @ 3000rpm
    8x Gentle Typhoon D1225C12BBAZ-00, 150cfm @ 5400rpm
EK Black Serie Fittings (Limited Edition)

This build is for the purpose to make the HAF 932 AMD Edition even more extreme. This will be done by making a custom floor and bottom parts.
This will be done using by own design & fabrication using CNC equipment.

The top part of the case will be stripped off anything that is useless. The HDD's move under the double floor in a bracket in front of the Dyna Ace High Power fan. Same thing for the power supply, and the EK 480 radiator.

The case will be airbrushed following the original design.

    Height at this moment 74,5cm

First 3D sketchup, trying to find out if the plan can be used.

After the first sketch a 3D design is made showing the design in al it's glory

If I was you i'd put a nice smallish SS unit in the bottom part of that case. Anyway looking really good.

that is possible, but the cost of those units is just a bit to much at this moment. But i don't rule it out just yet

This night worked on the 3D design, made it perfect, there were some small things that have been adjusted and improved the render. For the result see first post.

I also made my program for CNC fabrication. This will be used for all the custom parts.

    Thanks for the overall response

@ downlinx: That is the reason why i started this build, there are a lot of HAF's around but almost all or stock (you see window mod's and external radiators and that's about it. Nothing wrong with that but because the AMD Edition was released, it was the perfect chance for a huge modified case.

Making it more extreme than normal

    *small update*

I am waiting for a shipment directly from CoolerMaster USA with a box of AMD Edition parts but Customs is giving me a headache again, nothing to change about that, i hope they come in end of this week or beginning next week

Tomorrow i'm starting at the disassembly of a basic 932 chassis for all the exact dimensions for the holes and brackets. These will be filled in into my CAD render so that i can cut out several pieces on the laser cutter.

Last render finished, now you can see the difference in height if you compare a stock 932 with the modified (the stock looks like a mid tower now )

For the result check first post

You should rename this project to "HAF-N-HALF".

The design looks quite nice. Looking forward to it jumping from design to reality.

Is the factory case not able to handle that water gear? I woulda thunk it could easily.

Yes the HAF case can hold a 360 radiator without problems, but i don't want a 480 rad hanging at the back. That was the first reason for this build, later on it got more extreme with every design and ended with this design (there is a new render on the way, going to upload it tonight.

Also i had a practical problem of having not enough space for all the components ( yes even in a HAF it is possible)

I hope everyone is going to enjoy this build

I have my monitor next to my 932 and it looks amazing.

I wish you could mass-produce these. I'd probably pay 75-100 USD for one... probably.

yes the total cost will be higher than 75-100USD. De HAF AMD Edition case where most the parts come from cost about 170USD, then de rebuild starts. I already spent aprox 100USD in raw materials. This is without any CNC work.

I do all the fabrication myself but if you order these parts at a workshop the bill will be about 150USD in hours alone (i can know, i do it for a living).

The parts are all 1 off at this moment. Maybe i reproduce this case on custom order in the future

I was guessing at what coolermaster may have been able to produce it for, given the cost of the 932.
I figured since it was smaller had less internal configuration (assumption based on yet-to-be-posted pictures) that would be the mass-produced price.

Your costs are fair and expected though

    Looking forward to more!

Sorry for the delay, there were some small changes in the Final Render. Fabrication of the parts has started so the next update will be with the first set of pictures.

I hope you like them, please leave a comment about the build log.

IMHO, it will look better if you get rid of the Phenom badge in front of the case. You can also convert the bottom side window into mesh so that way you can fit more rads.

There will be a RX480 rad in the bottom part of the case and a RX360 in the top part, i think i will have more than enough cooling power now

But thanks for the advice, i have several front grills so i'm going to build several options that i have in my head to look what's the best option

    Talking

It would have been sweeet if CoolerMaster would have gave you another Case so you can CUT it up and make a CNC Pattern.

Coolermaster has already send me a supply of spare parts that i can use for this build. And i still had some old HAF 932 chassis here that i use for this build.
Today i assembled a raw version using just stock 1mm steel plate for dimensions. If i am happy about all the dimensions i put in the CNC program then i'm going to make a final version including all the holes (Flowjet).
