ah ok, so I´ve got a B3, Should I be happy about that ? Different story, I´ve seen submitions on the Bot with 0006 bios on Rampage II Extreme (and quite a high bclk too). Where do you get that from ?

Well B3 is suppose to have all the fixes. But it is more about the max blck for me then anything at this point. As i'm currently stuck at 220 and i got a 760 coming to see if it is the board or a error on my part.

Okay something odd has happened today. So i was going to try the 2nd bios and moved the jumper on the board to the 2nd bios. It would not boot, so i thought okay then. Moved it to the middle pins for bios 1 and it booted back up. Shut down the pc and placed the jumper back to pins 1 & 2 default and it will not boot. Now i'm like what is really going on. Only way the pc will not boot is if i place the jumper on 3 & 4 which is bios 1. It will not boot from default settings nor bios 2.

I have reset the bios, cleared it, removed the battery and power supply and it is still doing it. Has anyone else had this issue or done this and did the same thing happen to them? As this is pretty weird from the get go.

I've never seen that happen. I've never used the jumper to force a boot from BIOS 1 or 2 I always do that from in the BIOS. It's weird that BIOS 1 works when selected manually with the jumper but it won't boot when the jumper is on 'let BIOS decide' pins - BIOS 1 is the default BIOS so it should still be set to this unless you've changed it in the BIOS. What BIOS is selected to boot from in BIOS itself? If it's BIOS 2 that may somewhat explain it (if your BIOS 2 chip is faulty etc).

Can you force flash from BIOS 1 to BIOS 2? Perhaps your BIOS 2 chip is borked.

Actually i finally made bios 1 crash will i had the pins on 3 & 4. That made it go into bios 2, now i can't make it crash to save my like. It now boots back at default pin 1 & 2 now but stuck at bios 2. Seems the bios is rather old on 2 = 809 bios. My option is gone in the bios just to simply choose bios 1 and reboot. All i can do is force crash it which now seems impossible. If i didn't need it to crash it would get random reboots, blue screens or just a blank screen.............

I am a top AMD over clocker but this is my first Intel rig ever ! I just got in running today . I must say I am very very impressed . When I hit my max oc I will run prime95 at least 6hrs . WarPig1 with new i7 920 and Rampage II Extreme mother board . Have a lot of room left gang . Very impressed and extremely happy with this move I made ! I'm even running it with my Corsair Dominator AMD Black Edition BEMP 1600Mhz memory . This is ridiculous ! 4420Mhz took a pic 2hrs 2min. prime95 Stable . Will continue tomorrow . Expecting a lot when I get the right memory ( Dominator GT 2000Mhz 6gb ) ! I will edit my sig tomorrow . Great thread guys . Thank you all .

Good job "pcnazz" can't wait to see what you end up at. Hopefully you will not wall at 230 blck like me though. Keep pushing and let us know what you finish with.

Edit: Fixed my bios problem finally. Well back to testing some more stuff.

Thank you Killer K , appreciate the support ! Well , maxing out my Corsair Dominator AMD Black Edition ( BEMP ) 12800/1600Mhz memory @ 1723Mhz , lol . I went with a divider to continue my max i7 920 over clock . This being my first ever Intel platform I am impressed . The new Corsair Dominator GT 2000Mhz I should have next week . Anyways I used a memory divider and I am at a 21*220 BCLK giving me 4630Mhz 2hr p95 stable . Ruining this memory now @ 7 7 7 20 1T at this low 1323Mhz frequency . Cant wait to get the 2000Mhz memory !

Nice work, you should really enjoy the Corsair ram, you getting the 2000 C8's or C7's? I have to assume you're on water at those speeds/volts, what are your temps like? Judging from Asus probe looks like 65 - 70*C ?

Thank you CrptiK . Probe II takes the lowest core temp reading . Its accurate for the lowest core but yes the other cores are higher according to Core Temp . I am on Feser1 liquid , XSPC 480 Rad , 22c ambient temp . I'm going with the 2000Mhz C8 memory or maybe the 1866Mhz C7 . We pay for the Corsair Dominators but they are the best as far as my experience goes and the extra money is worth it . 2000Mhz C8 or these 1866Mhz C7

I having issues with my D0 and my Kingston Hyper X 2,000's, seems they don't play well together. I had zero issues with my C0 and this ram. Hopefully you can post the results on the corsair ram as i guess i need to look for some different brand also.

Very nice rig, go DD. I would like to try the water deal but right now i got one 280 left to part with. Moving to a single card as i have had enough of the heat and high power draw.

I would save the $30.00 and get the 1866c7. I have the 2000c8 and run them at 1680mhz cas7 using the 2:8 multiplier, cpu at 4400mhz for 24/7 settings, the 2:10 multiplier requires a lot of vtt.

Thank you KillerK . I'm leaning that way OC Nub . The math in my head says the 1866Mhz will work out well for me . Here is a Super_Pi 1M run with my current 100% stable clocks ( not maxed out yet ) using my older Corsair Dominator AMD Black Edition ( BEMP ) 12800/1600Mhz memory . I have the timings back to 8L seems to run better then at 7L . Again this is my first ever intel platform and I really am liking it a lot ! Appreciate your input OC Nub . KillerK what is going on with your Kingston Hyper X 2000Mhz sticks ?

Good run on the super-pi as i see you cut off HT, which gives you a bit better score. Try this and it should help also by lowering this in the ram timings. B2B (Back to Back) CAS Delay timing, it helps a lot in mem bandwidth dept.

So how is the 5970 treating you? Should be a monster of a card.

Thank you Killer_K . Here is a 1 hour ( 3612 second ) 100% load stress testing Asus EAH5970 and Danger Den 5970 water block . I like the card a lot . I am going to get the second one eventually .

As far as I know, there are no physical differences-
Maybe checking the serial number in the box or in the board itself. I got a B3 and serial starts with 98M0

    Mine is a 8AM = B2
    my other one 3CM = B2
My kingston and my d0 problems are with the qpi voltage. It is super touchy on that d0 compared to that c0. Can't figure it out as why it is like that. I'm trying to find a safe setting it is super stable out.

Not sure if you noticed but I have the 1866 C7's, you can see some OC results Here

Mine do everything I'd want them to and I'm glad I chose them rather than the 2000 C8's or C7's, but that's IMO of course.

Sounds like a CPU MCH issue rather than a ram vs CPU incompatibility. The kingstons with hypers are known for a few failures too, so it could possibly even be a stick on the way out if it's not your CPU.

I believe he meant Kingston HyperX like ram type not like chips that they have (ELPIDA Hyper).
    Hope I din't missunderstood .

looks decent Cryptik . Can you run them @ 6 7 6 at any frequency ? I'm waiting on an RMA refund on the AMD PH II X4 965 $206.00 to hit my account . Right now the 1866 C7 is my pick . Tiger has them for $345.00 6gb free ship . Also I was thinking the same thing on Killers Kingston HyperX . I would run memtest 1 stick at a time for a minimum of 1hr. for each stick. If they all pass I would then test the Rampage II dim slots one at a time for 25 minutes minimum for each dim slot .
