1.5v on the cpu-nb, and doesnt see any scaling after that.
Big step from ~2920 that requires 1.42v

Why is everyone using cold air just for 4 gig prime, you shouldn't need to even use agressive fans much less cold air until pushing beyond that.

hmmm look at temps. 30-40c load

benching totally makes sense cold, prime = , it's a 24/7 stability test, just seems pointless to me.

Week doesn't mean much, Ive seen "bad" chips and "good" chips in the same weeks......but every chip i tossed on prime still did 4 gig with just a quiet 1600 rpm single fan they preety much all scale within 50 mhz of each other till you pump more than 1.70v into them.

Prime95 in cold....was becuse this thread:

    Chapter 1

Week means much...it have been like that in many years, but you will also "bad" and "good" chips in same week...but the week is more importent!, if you take the badest chip form the best week on a Opteron 165-185 you can not beet that one with a good one from a bad week. But yes...its harder this days...more cores that need to be great to get a great one, before 1 or 2 cores much easyer.

Have you try any 0942 then?

    yep.

Between ln2 and normal air testing at home and in "other" places I have run through about 45 chips........

Yep the cores varying makes week almost useless now, Ive seen all the way to 6.8+ and all the way to barely 6.0 in week 44....... but they all still scaled roughly identical till 1.70v.......

Yes its ture you can found some great ones in bad weeks also, but they are rare.

Like this example... 940BE comes to Sweden with week 0850 many buy them...most of them hit 3.7-3.8ghz, But one user got one thats hit 4.0ghz!(24/7) speed with air.

Most 0942 stops around 3.95ghz-4.05ghz but you can always found great ones but they are rare..

How many 0944 can make 4ghz+ easy?, how many cant do it?...you can found them but they are rare...

Core0-Core3 diffrence....hard to tell, the ones i have test have been about 40mhz max more on one core in super pi1m...But how beter is that core in 3dmark2006 then?..More heat, more load....gives 3dmark2006 more score with 3.9,3.9,3.9,3.8 than 3.8,3.8,3.8,3.8 lower one core becuse its weak and cant run 3dmark2006 @ 3.9ghz

To much can go wrong...to many cores...its geting harder...what about 6,8,10 cores?...it will take forever to found out what core can make highest clocks.

How trust worthy is the AOD stress test? I really wished I could use AOD with the f2 790fxta-ud5 bios. I can use it with the f1, but the f1 sucks compared to the f2. =o\

Hmm, have you tried a fresh install man? It works for me? What OS are you using.

Me personally I only trust prime blend but my mach 1 can't handle Prime so I don't even bother.

yeah I tried 2 fresh OS's. Only OS I haven't tried is XP and I'm not going back to that just to test AOD... I mean I can adjust cpu vcore and nb vcore and cpu multiplier.. However, everything else is locked in it. Tried 3.0.x and 3.1 AOD. Both versions of AOD work with the F1 bios though.

Here's AOD with the F2 bios. In the F1 everything is usable, but that bios absolutely sucks donkeys for me.

Ohhh ok I understand your problem now, I thought it just refused to load.

There is an option I think called software smi support in bios IIRC, do you have that enabled?

Ehhh let me throw a system together with my giga and see if I can help you. Try advanced bios options for now.

Only problem is I only have one hard drive atm and thats occupied atm but at least I will be able to help you via bios options.

Nice. I figured it was just something changed in the f2 bios that caused AOD not to work. Eztune 6 still works but I hate using that program. I wished this board had FID and DID adjustments and finer tuning on the cpu vcore. Al though, I would just settle for AOD to work lol. I've been eyeing the servers for an F3 for 2 weeks now.
