Same on the QPI voltage here also on the D0 and the C0 takes a little more then that. Going to flash to the new bios and see what happens. I hope my bad luck doesn't strike now.......
Taking about being lucky on the 220 blck. My C0 walled a little before that at about 210 blck. The D0 is at 220 blck and seems that maybe it. It could be like i said earlier most of my stuff is on auto and i never had to change it but now since i'm in the 220 range i may need to start trying some new stuff out.

Doing a little ram testing at 'higher' frequencies to examine freqency increase of ram & uncore vs Vtt. Just ran Prime Large FFT's for ~30 mins during each test to establish basic stability.
All tests settings:
7-8-7-20 1T
Back to back delay = 4
Scaling behaviour:
DDR3-1875 MHz to DDR3-1934 MHz: +29.5 MHz on ram and +118 MHz uncore requires +0.053 Vtt.
DDR3-1934 MHz to DDR3-1965 MHz: +15.5 MHz on ram +62 MHz uncore requires +0.040 Vtt
DDR3-1875 MHz | 7-8-7-20 1T | 1.614 vdimm | 1.250 Vtt
DDR3-1934 MHz | 7-8-7-20 1T | 1.621 vdimm | 1.303 Vtt
DDR3-1965 MHz | 7-8-7-20 1T | 1.634 vdimm | 1.343 Vtt

This board has gotten on my last nerve today. I pretty much no that my boards blck limit is 220 now. But i'm so sick of this cool boot issue when over clocking on this board. Or when it just decides to not do nothing because you upped the cpu voltage one notch higher type deal. I'm going to go look for another brand and just see what happens on something different on them. Seems like the more you try to push this board the more it acts crazy or does something weird.
I seen it not be stable at one setting, you drop it down on the blck and it act up even more. Have to reset the bios and use the exact same settings you was using that it didn't boot up on then work magically then. Perhaps i have just had too many issues with this board today. But i feel like taking it and snapping it in half and taping a dollar to the board and saying "It is now worth something."
Once after a couple of bios flashes my board started acting like yours, inconsistent, couple of cold boots, etc. Tried Afudos/Ez flash to test other bioses and was the same thing.. The only thing that worked for me was the bios flashback.
I mean boot at stock with bios 2 (I assume you got it untouched from factory) and flashback to bios 1.
Just my 2 cents
I may try a older bios and see. I'm just trying to rule out each item one at a time. And it is now trial and error testing now. Running out of ideas and nerves now though. But i'm pretty much set that it is not going to do anything over 220 blck, so i'm not sure if anything will help at this point.
Doing some BCLK testing.
3 Hours Prime95 - 218.4 BCLK @ 1.072v | 1.224 Vtt | 1.131 vNB

First I thougt I got a bad Overclocker as I hit a Bclk Wall @ 214 (Boot with 212, TurboV or Setfsb to 214).
Benchstable I got 212 bclk with 21 Multi on my W3520.
Then I got my fingers on a retail 975 and my eyes made that
Did also a PiRun with 228 bclk and higher Ram clocks.
For the fact that I nearly sold off the R2E without a test, only to get a p6td-deluxe, i just feel glad that I´ve done the test.
The Xeon is running @ 200x21 at reasionable Voltages (far off from beeing a golden one)
As I only bougt the Xeon to close the gap till I can get my hands on a Gulftown (in the form of a 6 core retail xeon with at least 21 multi für under 400€) it´s ok for me as it is...
Anyone can give me a hint what the new 1704 Bios does ? Asus HP doesn´t give me a hint
I'm wondering is it because your cpu has a better memory controller on the cpu since it is a "EE" or maybe you a have a "B3" board maybe or perhaps both.
Is this the limit on the board or just where you stopped?Did also a PiRun with 228 bclk and higher Ram clocks.
All it does is give support for new cpu's for the board.Anyone can give me a hint what the new 1704 Bios does ?

hey guys, quick question :
which command rate is better(faster) for overclocking a i7-920@OC (my goal is 4ghz)
the command rate on the rampage 2 extreme is "1N" "2N" - right ?
my ram : corsair dominator 6gb ddr3 1600 cl8 (TR3X6G1600C8D)
thank you very mutch![]()

How can I check if my R2E is a B3 whatever that means ?
My xeon would not even post at 215bclk with rams @ 1066, so why should have the Mem controller have an influence on the bclk ? (maybe a fact I simply don´t know)
Voltage whise the EE does clock about 150 to 200mhz more on the same settings but the heat output even in a non oced environment is higher than the xeon.
Havent tried to go higher on the bclk than 228, as I just wanted to break som Pi1m Numbers of members of my forum which competed with i7-920´s. So I used the 228x21 setting (what they did for their best time) tweaked a little and got a better time, Job done.
WHAT new cpu´s are supported on the 1704 bios ?
Asus HP doesn´t list new ones
Do we finally get official Xeon support (Asked that on a german forum too, for Rampage II gene and Extreme) or just additional Gulftowns and i7-930
IIRC BIOS 1406 gave official xeon support. Using my W3540 it had all options available.
There is two ways, one is with cpu-z under mother board tab. And the other is in the bios under.
Advanced, Chipset, North Bridge Chipset Configuration.
Reversion :B2 or B3 will show in there.
Noticed they locked the pci-express lanes and now you cannot adjust the lanes to your preferences it is grayed out. Anyone else see this and noticed when i happened. As i just put my other 280 back in for some test for someone.
Anyone noticed a bog down on the sata channels? I have all six sata ports used and when I download stuff from a website say 2mb it would download in a few seconds but it would take up to 10 secs before it says its done. It acts like its freezing for a second then it will pop up the window saying run/open/cancel ect... It's really annoying when a 5 year old pc's can download and show that its ready to go in a second.
The setup is 2 raptors in raid 0, 1tb black and a 500g drive and 2 dvd burners. Regardless which drive I let the download save to there is always a huge delay until that download file is ready.
