NVIDIA to disallow XFX from selling Fermi based cards in Europe

    http://forum.donanimhaber.com/m_36997253/tm.htm

Apparently this is a rumor that has been going around during CES. If they are to be believed, Nvidia is going to take XFX's name off the list of approved manufacturers for European operation and won't include XFX in the Fermi announcement.

Also, Nvidia is said to end working with VisionTek, an American online retailer. Nvidia's partners in USA are said to undergo big changes.
Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

XFX not selling nVidia is good news, their RMA service sucks. Period.

About USA, I couldn't care less.

It is almost amazing how the RMA perception can vary. I had a NIGHTMARE with BFG twice, on the same RMA. It took over 2 months to take care of. Some people swear by their service.

I have had two RMA encounters with XFX. One was not the VGA causing the probs and they were very helpful, second was a dead GTX280 and they were great to me. From Canada it was less than two weeks, which IMO, is fantastic.

I think the only RMA service that all can agree that sux is Asus.

I've never had a problem with XFX RMA.... only used it once though.

Is... this refusal of co-operation because XFX have opened up to ATI?

Thats groundless, its the only thing I can think of.

My Turkish is a bit rusty. Why have nVidia decided not to include XFX and VisionTek in their Fermi line up ??
Is it because they are selling ATI cards ???

    Probably.

Is this going to be something to blame nVidia for?

I would totally see myself doing the same if I sold a product of which I only had one competitor and a loyal vendor till some point in time started to sell my competitor's product as well, I would cut him off.

    That's how it works, actually...

Either quality control, or RMA, or ATI stuff. The latter being the most likely, though...

Yes, it says in the article that XFX has been removed from Nvidia's special partners list, and this is one of the consequences.

BFG have withdrawn from the European market too
What worries me is I currently have a GTX 285 OCX at RMA with them (they collected it today), as it was a DOA RMA replacement for my GTX 280 which developed black flashing re tangles in games after 1 1/2hrs
Now that BFG are no longer selling cards in Europe I do not know who to purchase a Fermi if and when I upgrade in June?
    Gainward?
I am not sure if eVGA have a good warranty in Europe

NO biggy, from the sounds of it, their products weren't up to par... all these RMA's. I buy MSI stuff, (system builder for friend, family, co-worker and guildee's). Never had to RMA a single video card.

It all comes from the same manufacturer. So that theory is shot. Only way they could have more issues is if they bin higher. As far as I have found XFX is not very aggressive at their binning.

Damn, we had loads of faulty GTX 280 BFGs and totally lost faith in them for all but pre-blocked 295s and their mid-range to low-end stuff and pre-OC stuff had too much badge tax. XFX Ati cards have always been good though.

I just checked the Visiontek website, and there are no nVidia cards listed on there anyway?! Or have the already withdrawn their GeForce offerings?

Sad news about XFX... less competition is always bad

If this is true it sounds like they are not marketing Fermi as aggressive as they've done with their past gen parts IMO.

Cant read turkish and ive read 2 diffrent things in this thread.

So did Nvidia remove XFX from their special partners list or did Nvidia completely stop dealing with XFX.

Because if Nvidia only removed XFX from their preffered partner list then we wil stil see Nvidia products from XFX.
Nvidia removing a company from their preffered partner list only means that they wont get any special treatment.

Nvidia did the same to Asus and MSI when they started selling ATI.
Preffered partners get get better treatment, at launch they get more GPUs etc.
Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.
