My only suggestion to anyone testing and tinkering would be to try putting a nice radius on the leading edges (Top side away from the copper microchannels) of the slotted holes. It should be relatively easy with a small disc or tapered diamond bit.

Depending on how much the nozzle plates contribute to pressure drop, you could see a fairly dramatic improvement to flow rate. Assuming a similar relationship to culvert entrance losses, you could see up to something like a 40% reduction in head loss going from a square (Lazer Cut) type edge to something nicely rounded.

Not sure the extra flow relates to anything measureable thermally, but it I can't see how it could harmful.
Sorry, my english skills are not good enough to understand

    Which option is your recommendation?

Very promising! It really makes me wonder what Watercool will introduce in response...

First "complete" review of the HF that I know:
    http://www.awardfabrik.de/kuhlung-wa...-hf-plexi.html

Congratulations, Eddy! You got the crown with best performance at more than reasonable flow
    (unlike the XT)

The HF did have better flow than XT, but XT beat HF by 0.2C at 3.6ghz setting and lost by 0.2C at 3.2ghz in their test. They are using core temp avgs, which at best have a repeatability of about ~0.2C, so anything less than that is within margin of error. In fact author of study said "The differences between the Apogee and the supreme HF are so small that a clear winner cannot be called."

Thanks for the link, but I am not sure I would trust that. Their results don't really make sense, if anything it just shows that they didn't do enough trials or that they have a margin of error larger than the precision of the results.

It means you lose your warranty when you open it. Pretty strange since it comes with 5 jet planes but you can only use the one installed without losing your warranty?!

so it is on par with the Swiftech with a lot better flow, so better for multi block loops, after seeing that review instead of getting a new block im thinking my next up-grade will be a pump, as my heatkiller holds its own and does well with a lot of pump behind it

But i do love the internals of the new EK HF block, great work there

EK pressure tests each block before leaving the plant. After it passes this test, they put a sticker on it which says "warranty void if removed" (or something to that effect). This "warranty" is for a leak free block from the factory, nothing more (DangerDen does the exact same thing). EK will still take care of you down the road providing you don't do something utterly moronic.

Dont think there is much to improve on by cooling performance. What EK did was the next step and that was to lower the restriction without losing the cooling performance and that result is clearly shown in the German test. Still cant get it tho, well I can but some of my other components (from XSPC: Rad+Bay Res) are delayed because of the bad weather

@Waterlogged: Thx for clearing that up!

I wonder how it performs then if they use a more restrictive setup. Too bad they haven't tested that but I doubt the difference would be huge.

Besides the fact that it looks and performs great, I also like the fact they've added MX-2 thermal paste. It's a great paste, and saves me having to buy a 4g tube for 7 EUR.

The jet plates allow for more or less water to pass through the block. More flow means a less restrictive block, but some performance loss. Less flow means a restrictive block, but better performance.
Although I doubt the difference between 2 plates will be more than 1-2C.

I have EK blocks for my 2 5870's and they are the BEST. I have an Apogee XT right now but I think I am going to replace it with this CPU block. I've already had to clean my XT once and the internal pins looked damaged right out of the box (like a bunch of them had been crushed).
