    Hello,

My Q9550 went easily to 450x8.5 = 3,825GHz on this Asus m2f at just 1,24V Vcore and 1,24V Vtt.
However the chip runs really hot. I was hoping to get it to at least 4GHz on AIR, but my Xigmatek HDT S1283 won't cut it on this silicon it seems. Other than the heat issues it is however rock solid. It can pass 12 hour prime95 (small, large, blend, just about any settings), 20 times Linx with 2048MB's and even an 18hour gaming session Also, I don't use LLC, so the Vdroop is massive

No doubt about it being able to go higher, I just can't cool it right now with my cooling. Nothing to do with my board.
And if I consider it is 22 celsius ambient in my flat right now (winter), but during summer i get ambient teps above 30, sometimes up to 40 here...
(flat right bellow roof and all windows to south lol).

Seems I need to consider water cooling now.

your vid is low but your voltage for 3.8 GHz is high... on a UD3P you can fine tune much more and get a much lower voltage. i had a Q9550 with a VID of 1.275 but it was able to clock @ 3.8 with just 1.296 V. With the board i got now i can fine tune much more then with my old P35-DS3 and i have a low vid Q9550 now so i can clock on low voltages

I've installed a thermalright 120 True Black with a Scythe Splitstream 80 cfm, 1600 rpm.
    Q9550@3.400 MHz, about 1.16V full :

While running OCCT the hottest core is about 45°C.
    Less 7-9°C compared to CNPS9700.

I need some advices on how to pull down my Vcore, my stable settings are as follows :

    Mobo : P5Q Pro mBIOS 2102
    Procie : Q9550 C0 and VID : 1.3V

    FSB : 459 / 3,9 Ghz
    FSB Strap : Auto
    Vcore : 1.381 BIOS
    FSb Ratio : 12:10
    FSB Ram : 550 ( Corsair Domi PC8500/1066 ) 5-5-5-15
    GTL : Auto
    PLL : 1.5
    FSB Term : 1.28
    Vdim : 2.1
    NB V : 1.24
    Sb V : 1.1
    LLC : Enable
    CPU Spectrum : Disable
    PCIe Spectrum : Disable
    CPU Margin : Compatible

    The rest : Leave Auto

FYI : Stressed IBT 10x, Idle Temp 34 to 40C, Understressed max 74C, Room Temp 32C

How to decrease my Vcore ? Should I play with GTL, PLL and FSB Term, and what setting ?

    Thanks in advance

With prime95 u can see which core fails. Run it and lower vcore till it fails. It will fail on either cpu 0,1,2 or 3. If it fails on 0 or 1 then GTL ref for first die should be adjusted or if it fails on 2 or 3 then GTL ref for 2nd die would need adjusting. Now if it fails prime then when u run LinX at real-time it will fail on first round. I got LinX stable at a certain vCore then I reduce it till the error came on the 9th round of LinX. Then I remembered which die needs tweaking and tried GTL ref x0.620 and it failed on first round. I set x6.40 and it passed 15 rounds (in real-time).

Real-time will give u errors fast, its better than waiting hours to find if u are stable or not. Nothing will usually run real-time as u can't even mouse ur mouse, so if its stable with that then its pretty damn stable. Ofcourse other tests may find instability still.

    and next one on a 100.00 UD3L EP45 by Gigabyte.....much better....

I hear though the P45 T2RS Plus is way better for this though or the P5Q....

    bizzare

    Thanks...

    enjoy......

OH, and i'm afraid my vid is 1.17....

With that vid you should get a lot lower then 1.4 for 4.3GHz o and what did you try on the T2RSB???
BTW i think im VID king for Q9550 1.1375 ^^

    Smile

    1.13 is amazing...

and yeah I knew something was fishy here..._I also thought it would take a lot less than 1.4v for 4.3 gigahertz.... and I was kinda thinking vtt also...

I'll have to work on this some more.... 4.3 24/7 would be nice or even 4.4ghz.....

    Cool

Well, MrDucky, those settings will definitely come in handy...
My T2RSB Plus went tits up.... Never tried the Advanced settings, went to unlock em, got the extra skews etc then when I go to use em, the board freezes, the bios then proceeds to become 100% corrupt and it's all over.....

tried for 3 days, the furthest I got was code 26, but that don't yield a bios so I couold not even flash it....not even with the floppy....

thinking of grabbing a new t2rsb bios chip, but I suck at soldering....
would cost the same as a new board to rma and pay for repairs and international shipping, so believe it or not i'll be forking out for the new , or newer T2RS Plus p45 by DFI, since DFI is the cheapest amd Gigabytes boot sequence/loops sucks, not to mention the bad S3 sleep recovery....

One thing I liked about DFI, with the exception of a singular bios on their lower end boards, was their reliable boot rate....
always booted reliably and promptly everytime...Where as Gigabyte only has the t2rs/t2rsb features on it's Extreme version...

So now I'm afraid it's time for the T2RS plus... I just wish I could get my hands on the BLOOD IRON T2RS Elite - but sadly not available in Canada...

    Thanks for tuning in folks...

well i couldn't do it thru newegg becaude some of the original parts are missing..and I imagine DFI is somewhere in EUROPE...and i'm in Canada here...

there is still 2 months left on the warranty, and I imagine all they have to do is give it the proverbial "flash"....
so maybe...but in the end it may just be easier to buckle down and go for the T2RS Elite DK instead...
but if I end up with TWO that go code 88 I'm gonna me mighty peed.....

ok i'll look into it, but it now occurs to me that for the DK T2RS PLUS it's only 20.00 Canadian more, so then it'll be this one instead - the proven one - ..although that's still seems to me like it's a little on the BUDGET side if you ask me.....

but a good deals a deal....
I mean i only paid a little for the t2rsb over 200 and my Rampage Formula was almost 400.00 for virtually the same thing so I guess they just offer better deals... so to speak..

I'll look into that local rma if it exists...
