Here's my X-25M G2 80GB in an Acer AS1410 notebook, SU2300, ICH9, AHCI, latest firmware. 4K seems slow. Is this a hardware limitation? I can put it in my desktop to test, but it would be as a data drive, not an OS drive, if that makes a difference.

here my x25m g2 80gb ssd , ahci on p6t se , pack date 10/17/09 , i can't seem to update to the newest firmware or find the managment tool . i score 7.8 in win 7 , i was wondering if mine is on par with where it should be or do i need more tweaks ?

i nearly doubled my score in this app. by editing the registrey and enableing ahci

should i put all my apps. on my ssd like , speedfan , realtemp and so on ? or should i keep it to as little as possible ?

finally got the firmware updated and trim enabled , wish i would have ran this app on a fresh install and after every app i added to see what slows it down the most . maybe i'll do a fresh install later .

    1.2 Toolbox is now available.

Edit: Seems that 1.2 has to tip toe around system restore points, so the more restore points you have the longer it takes. Without restore points it is more or less instant but with lots of restore points it can take a long time.

    Thumbs up

I just reinstalled Windows 7 on a brand new x25 80GB with the latest firmware. The x25 is definetly faster than my Vertex 60, which I put in another computer. Not that big a difference but Windows loads faster and programs install slightly quicker compared to the Vertex FW1.41.

Can someone with AMD 790FX or 750 with native Microsoft Windows 7 AHCI driver post some test results please. All i see is Intel controllers in here. If the results are slightly worse than the Intel ICH9 dont get shy and post results guys. Thanks ! Mine is coming soon and i will post results but i know at least 1 person has this running on a 790FX.

Hey guys I got my disk. It came with 02HA. Tomorrow I will be installing it. What I'm wondering about is the reliability of this drive. Do any of you used it for more than a few months without any problems ? By problems I mean erasing itself after shutdown/sleep at least once since you had it ? I've come across one or two cases on Google where this happened so I just hope this is just an isolated issue...

If you follow the Intel step by step instructions as shown above listed it will update the FW with no problems. And your drive will work fine. I been using mine for the past 3 month with no problems and heavy use on it as well. Like photoshop, gaming etc..

Hey guys. i got it all installed. Went into the bios E-Sata Controller Mode was swtiched from IDE to AHCI. Than I installed winows 7 + drivers and kaspersky and than decided to test and here are the results:

Something is wrong in my opinion. I am also not sure if that AHCI driver is working. When i went back to my bios there was a RAID menu. I entered it and there was a submenu which was "ATA devices" IDE or AHCI. It was already on IDE so when i switched it to AHCI windows would not load and gives me an error 0x00000007B. I have done the MS solution to the error 0x000000007B for AHCI but when i went to the registry it was already set to 0 just like MS suggests so that did not solve it. This makes me think that AHCI is not working on my machine eventhough it installed its AHCI driver as seen in the Device manager. Also i dont have the "hot swap" icon at the bottom of my screen by the clock...

PS; I have fixed the problem guys. Just reinstalled Windows and everything is working normally now.

I updated my firmware to 02HD when the new update was released and AS Benchmark was R:169 W:72 Total:327.
    Today I installed Toolbox 1.2 and ran Optimizer now it is R:198 W:103 Total:402 - that is a 23% increase !!
    Scheduled to do weekly optimizer.
