    Thanks guys.

beta, i don't know if the Dominators helped but i know the cold really helps CPU-NB speed. Looks like the CPU-NB scales even better with cold than the cores. Well, almost.

theoldtimer, it likes cold. But the Dominator GT's are a nice addition i have to admit.

well heres a quick 32m, DDR2 showing its age here. No tweaks I just set to 4.4 ghz and let it rip couldnt dial in 4.5ghz after like 4 tries farthest I got was half way then a reboot, with 25% ice left I just went for the 4.4ghz

I might give it another try but not sure

Bios changed timings by itself when I changed memory speed, to late to change after 32m started. Its ok.......I have plenty good results already dont need to be fighting against DDR 3.

    yes look C2

    No time for settings today

This mobo I think makes me use more voltage than newer mobo I see for cpu.

I'm gonna have to give this a run after Xmas is over with. I have been staring down the C3 revision for a while. Maybe by then ASUS will have the updated bios as well. My old faithful 955 is gonna be hard to leave behind though. It survived a 965 C2 that I couldn't for the life of me push past 3.8ghz stable with any amount of voltage, bus/multiplier tweaks, cooling or luck. So my wife got an unexpected upgrade. Where as my old faithful 955 can hit 3.9ghz all day long 24/7 stable. Maybe I just got a dud overclocker, idunno.

I flashed the 1204 bios for the Crosshair III and tried some different sticks of memory today. I then retried the 10 X multi tests; although the new bios or memory helped I still can稚 get close to an HTT of 400. The bios will load up to 370 but it crashes loading Windows. I didn稚 try upping the HTT in windows after running 3D06 at 10x368. I thought the system would be unstable when running 3D06 considering that it wouldn稚 boot the OS at even one more click of the HTT but it just blew through it, NB and HT-link clocked up somewhat.

theoldtimer, i flashed bios 1204 myself but in Everest latency went from 39.6ns to 40.2ns with my daily settings.

Looks like Asus relaxed some internal latency timing to allow more ht speed.

I'd rather stick with good old 1003 bios.

Hmmmm, ever since the 10X and 17X challenge, my system has been cranky. Overclocking isn't risky, is it?

It's weird, I get errors when XP is loading, when I first power on the system. After it gets to operating temp, it seems fine

Nice ht theoldtimer. Still with the rad in the window? Do you have to guard against condensation with that setup?

Grinder I知 back on the hard stuff (ice) until I get the rad setup sorted out (too many restrictions in the lines) and yes I still need to take measures to ward of condensation using the big rad setup.

I did get through prime at 4.305GHz but 4.325GHz failed.

I set 1.6V in the bios but load line calibration was enabled so I知 not really sure what the vcore was during the test. This processor痴 default is 1.4V.

I値l try to get back to it in the next few days Flank3r. The C3 is up on the shelf right now as I知 testing some other processors for the next few days. I know 19K is in this C3 though I just ran out of time looking for it.

Some eggnog, had to prepare past several days for a massive family overclock. The Third Spawn. Currently water cooled at about 37C. We noticed some instability after running full load for a couple weeks, three nights ago, so I had to divert energy to doing prep for the big OC session. Now that I have insulated the crib, cleansed the napthaline-preserved spawn insulators, purged obsolete hardware, and defined naming parameters I have some time to run a few cycles at idle. What do you gentleman think about Kelvin? Kirk? Deckard? Anyway stay tuned for results. Good to see yours continue to improve, which is good, I see a new locked multiplier challenge coming your way in January...
