as long as it hasnt shown up in pictures since that one i wouldnt worry too much.

    Great shots guys

Chicken Patty, thats a well composed shot.
I think noise is a huge problem on CCD sensors, especially with long exposures, where they get quite hot, worse then CMOS sensors, a couple of 5-10min exposures on my camera creates noise like I am shooting at the highest ISO (ISO3200)

Took this in an Anthropology clothing store in San Fransisco while my wife was shopping, was surprised when I viewed it later at home.

Elisha can you do me a favor, post that shot you jsut did with no processing.
    just reduce it.
maybe do auto levels or something to even it out a bit but i would like to see what the vanilla 7D does in your knowledgeable hands.

too many of us post processed pictures and many times, especially with your fantastic shots i wonder what the originals looks like, and since you love taking shots of your boy as much as i do mine, show me what the regular 7D image looks like.... if you dont mind sharing.

Another of the "shot-from-bus-window", but this time I mistakenly left the ISO at 800 causing a fair amount of noise in the shot, I dont like NR since it flushes away the details too.

As vanilla as possible. Straight JPEG output from original RAW in LR 3 Beta. No presets or anything applied.
And yes if you see the reflection in his eyes, you will see the white umbrella!

The processed image is actually softened using Clarity -31 to smoothen his skin.

Nice work Elisha. I think the thing i like most about that processing, is how much it makes his upper eyelashes pop.

It was -18C/0F here last night.. that created all these cool snow/ice formations. Keep in mind, this is shot @ 400mm, so it isn't very sharp..but i got to take it standing up. Oak leaf frozen into the ice works well for scale.

I tend to soften all my portraits but always try to make them pop out as well.
Most times softening tends to flatten things but once you get the hang of it you will know what makes them pop!
