The thing that annoyed me most about the G5 is the lack of a "Forward" button on your thumb. They only gave you one instead of two... I went back to the MX510 because I couldn't live with one button there.

I think they released a newer G5 that has a forward button along with the back button.

I have a MX 518. Mouse is fine. Also MX 1000, and a few other cheapo's

the mx 518 has served me well as my main mouse for games. I desire a wireless soon, think I will splurge on the new Razer Mamba

The thing feels like it was custom made for my hand...

But I am also coming from one of the first wireless mouse that logitech ever released and it held up like a champ until someone (IE not me) dropped it on the floor and then stepped on it...

I voted Deathadder but I'm using a Mamba, same as a Deathadder but with more buttons and cordless possibility, I'm sold to Razer (do not look at the avatar :P )

I also previously voted mx518 but now my deathadder is far and away my favorite gaming mouse ever - very durable, functional and comfortable.

    I like my Razer Mamba

Probably not worth AU$180; but then, you only need to buy it once. They don't become obsolete the way a CPU or video card will.

I voted other. Other would be the Logitech G500. I had the G5 and it was awsome and then I got this and it's the G5 on crack!!! Has a higher DPI than the G9 and more buttons for less cash.

I've had a Microsoft Sidewinder X8 for a while now, I'm really happy with it for a bluetooth mouse. I even use it at 4000DPI on my desktop and its brilliant. It's much more comfortable than the original Sidewinder as well, I can use it for hours on end without ever bothering my wrist. It's definitely not suited for smaller hands though.

I have a copperhead and hate it. Terrible thumbbutton placements, but it IS symmetric, 2 button on each side, for all you ambidextrous gamers out there!

I love the MX518, used a wireless MX500 before it, can't stand wireless after trying wired.

I would say the razer mamba is the best gaming mouse out there right now in my opinion. The mouse is a perfect fit for your hands and it looks so sexy.

I love the G5. Its large enough to fit my big hand yet still comfortable to use. The weights are nice as well. I was going to get the G9 originally but its just too small.
