1880 won't be easy but i think it all depends on both ram and cpu. I think ram with Elpida Hyper will get a bit further than ram with Micron chips. Also, not all cpu's will have the exact same limit. Then there's another variable: cooling.

The limit will be higher for a frozen cpu compared to a normal cooled cpu.

I can get my ram up to ~1820, and 32M stable at about 1800.

I hope i can raise that limit soon as my Dominators are here. Again not here today. Dang store!

nice moorhen2, looking forward to tri-fire!

on w7 64bit my chip uses the same vcore (set to 1.48 in bios, shows 1.464 in cpuz - cpuz shows 1.448 during prime) for 4ghz prime stable on air... whats your cpu-nb for 2.6ghz nb? mine is set to 2.6ghz with cpu-nb @ 1.25v (but to be honest i havent tested stability with lower volts yet, will be doing more testing this weekend. i want more nb speed for 24/7 )

Thanks crazydiamond,i see we have the same board,i am using the same bios settings as i did with my c2 revision, apart from the cpu voltage which was 1.520v for 4.0ghz,these are the settings i use,cpu vdd=1.4375v,cpu-nb vdd=1.3500v,cpu=1.477v(1.462 in cpu-z),cpu-nb=1.400v,cpu-pll=2.652v,nb=1.280v,ht link-1.260v,sb=1.260v.You may well have different settings, but these have served me well over the last few months.

I'm busy these days but I've managed to do SuperPi 1M on water cooling, this is not final result, I'm targeting sub 15s... No radiator, no standard reservoir, can of 5 litres water from fridge, one freezed bottle to keep cold as much as possible... Next time I'll throw some ice in water...

First default bios boot and two setup pics...

    Well, got my 965 C3 / Crosshair III / OCZ 1600 Black Edition 7 7 7 today.

Here is my first quick test (took about 20min).

What do you think about it? Any advice for a noob o/cer on AMD?

I didn't even touch the RAM yet.

Cooled by a Corsair H50 (with only the basic fan on the rad atm, will put 2 Arctic Cooling PWM in push/pull tomorrow).

    Ambient temp is around 25°C
Idle cores temps : around 40°C
Load cores temps : around 62°C

    That is a bit high.

First of, lower NBvid (CPU-NB voltage) you probably don't need that much for only 2.5GHz.

Second, try lower Vcore, try with 1.4-1.425V for 4GHz.

Thrid, if you can afford it, buy real watercooling equipment.

Yeah my friend, I do love my chip! It hates big voltage but perform excellent! I hope you will join me with your new Dominators and water cooling (which is by the way beautiful, I've seen your rig in other thread)

The time has come to upgrade, don't you think? C3 deserve it

You asked me in previous page about temps and 4.1 stress stable, I don't know man, I'm really not a stress test and temperature watcher guy, I just want to see how far it goes...

That is just awesome! How much Vdimm for 900 6-6-6-18? I can't get mine stable at 900 with 1.72V. CPU-NB seems to benefit well from ice cooling, magic!

1.70V 1800 CL6, 1.75V up to 1872 CL6, but the interesting part is that I can't make them stable on blue slots, memory is not stable 1800 1.75V on blue ones, so I'm benching only on white ones, and from yesterday I have MSI 790FX-GD70 as second mobo for benchmarks but memory can't go higher than 1760 1.75V CL6 so I'm dissapointed right now with MSI...

cpu temp in bios was 4°C, last time 5°C so cpu freq is similar but nb freq is very grateful with ice...

I will show some 3D soon with my new XFX 5870 XXX Edition also...
