I flashed my 5870. All is good so far.

*** WARNING: PLEASE make sure the new BIOS is exactly 128KB before flashing. Initially, I bricked my 5870 because the BIOS was like 72KB (corrupted download???). Luckily I had an old PCI graphics card laying around to fix. ***

Running the new bios. As mentioned before, the load voltage has slightly increased with this bios. My DP > DVI monitor turning off at random times while running eyefinity still happens, but my monitor always comes back in 2 seconds (did that with the previous bios too). With the previous bios my eyefinity arrangement gets messed up when you my monitors return from standby after not using my pc for a while. Loading and exiting a 3d program or pressing control + alt + del fixed this, however. With the new bios the arrangement stays correct after my monitors return from standby.

So you guys are running the unlocked version, right? And everything works well?

Edit: I just checked the unlocked version.
    BIOS CRC is incorrect!
    DO NOT USE IT.

Is anyone willing to provide a correctly unlocked one please (this 035264 version, or a later one)? I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks for the reply. So make no real difference. I don't get the problems you had before so not worth flashing for me

The unlocked BIOS in the OP seems broken and is giving me CRC errors, so running the normal one.
Bump for someone to unlock this new official 5870 BIOS properly, please?..
Do the community a favour if you have tools to do so, can't take long.

I could have a look and see what I can do. Never tried it before, but it's worth a shot. I won't have time to test the new bios myself, though, but I could do that tomorrow. If you want, you could test it out yourself, but do so AT YOUR OWN RISK. Make sure you have another card so you will be able to flash back to a working bios if it doesn't work. Now let me see if I can mod that bios.

Meh, it's proving to be too difficult. RBE doesn't seem to handle these new bioses too well and corrupt them. Sorry, can't help any furthur

No worries, thanks for giving it a try!

Apparently there are some dev tools that make unlocking a cake.
http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.ph...95&postcount=4 This person seems to have them, but they wouldn't answer my PMs...

It's one of MSI Employee, and he said in one of his post he can't release the tool for the public, it's only for internal use.
