I know I don't need that much voltage when overclocking my i5.

For the guys who need these high voltages when o/c......what vcore is needed to run just the default of 2.66GHz (20x133MHz) at P95 stable? I'm just curious if more voltage is needed from the beginning or just when o/c?

LazyDogNet... you have one of the better i5 chips that I've seen posted in this thread.

All chips reach a point of diminishing returns with regards to overclocking. Some chips might be better suited to running at maybe 3.8Ghz.
Ryzen 9 on the test bench... Sometimes older generation/tech as well.

As PolRoger just mentioned, the excessive voltage needed for that extra 200MHz can be a diminishing return. I can run P95 all day at 3800MHz using way less juice.
Yep, I'm at 4Ghz with 1.29v 24/7 stable but to get 4.2Ghz it takes 1.4v, big boost in voltage for not enough performance gain. I like my 20 x 200 with DDR3-2000, so nice and round
