I know... Should get 900mhz core on both at least with the voltage tweak...
I'll probably get better Xfire results with the i7 platoform.. we'll see!
    Thanks man.

What PL are you running when pushing your E8600? And how did you overcome the 500MHz FSB limit you encountered last time? MCH ref voltage or something else?
The motherboard apparently has an FSB hole which I was running into when I tried to take baby steps from 5.15ghz to 5.3ghz in the OS. All I do now is boot it at 5ghz and then set it to 5.5ghz with ET6. Works great and is very stable at 5.5ghz.
Same settings as I used to use for my Wprime, SuperPi, and Pifast runs at 5.6ghz. Didn't change ANY settings other than the MCH core and the CPU core.
Anything I should change that would help the temps, stress the CPU less, or make it more stable?
Its running stable enough right now at 5.5... since I'm board limited and can't go over 5.61ghz with the board, it might not matter to change anything else...

You sure you are board limited? The only thing I can think of is MCH ref voltage, it helped me on my board, though I was on air and couldn't test that far.
Besides that I can't think of anything else.
    Have fun!

Yeah, memory tweaking might gain you some time too, maybe you can even hit 1050MHz at the same timings. What VDIMM are you running?
I used OCX spi tweaker, 1200MB from 1 to another partition. and at it's peak with resources i start 32M. im running 1.65 vdimm, i know it can do 1000mhz 32M @ 1.70 +- , it's not really an awesome set or so

dont know what els i can try regarding the tweak part?

I figured it was the board... give me a great excuse to sell it and get a Rampage X48 board and some DDR3 anyway!

Been trying to get the CPU to be stable at 5.4ghz+ once again but it didn't happen...
Wonder if the board is just cold after installing windows and setting up things at stock speeds with the cascade running on it or if I tightened the bracket too much and the board is bent a little without its backplate...
Maybe I'll let it dry and warm up and try again tomorrow.
Been test all kinds of settings in the last two hours to get it 5.5 stable again.....
Maybe the Vaseline in the socket is doing something?
The last thing I did with the board was P4 testing yesterday when it got all confused about the voltages and all...

Higher mem frequency will boost your 32M for sure, did you tweak RTLs already?
1200MB is too big imo, try something smaller, like ~680MB.

The board may just have taken enough torture and just is not up to the clock speed any more. It's possible you killed your NB with high NB voltage too!

Maybe so.... Time to get a R1E board and some DDR2 or a Classified E760 board?
Problem is I don't want to invest in an i7 chip now as i9 is right around the corner...
Guess I could get a Classi board, some dominator ram and a cheap 920 for now and upgrade next month...
I would still like to try out an E8600 at 6ghz though... what do you think?

I would go for the Rampage Extreme, I already thought about it to be honest, the boards are cheap and they're the best mainboards you can get for S775.

Point wise a Classified would be better though for sure, and it will run i9 when it's out.

Depends on what you can afford, buying an i7 now and an i9 later on won't be cheap for sure. Personally I would go for the REX and buy a good 3x2GB memory kit ( read: Hyper chips ). That way you can have lots of fun now and you're futureproof with your RAM.

Hypers are not the best choice for LGA775. Many boards require high Vdimm to crank FSB and PL really tight - high bin D9s would be better, and they are quite cheap these days.

Are you sure, just looking at the top 3 of Pifast globally and hipro's SuperPI score he posted 2 weeks ago, they are all using Hyper equipped memory. Concerning all the other scores, Hyper chips were just not available when LGA775 was around and benched by many people.
You might be mixing reason and effect, it's not tht you need high Vdimm to push FSB/PL and thus need D9 to do it, it's rather because you use D9 you have to push high Vdimm to get anywhere.
In case I'm talking nonsense please correct me!

Well I'm not part of your team, but my REX board absolutely loathes my OCZ hyper rams, yet it clocks nicely with the GTR's. I'm stuck at 1980mhz with the Hypers, no way they do anything stable at or over 2000mhz.
It could be my board (I can't go over 630FSB), but I've seen this before with eg Eva2000 and others... If I have a FSB that keeps the rams sub 1980Mhz I use the hypers for tighter timings, if I go at or above 2000mhz GTR's is the way to go for me.

Same with our REX (it's dead now). I had D9s that would do 600 fsb, 2000 7-6-5-18, but none of our Hypers would do more than 1800 on any CL.

If I go with a E760 mobo, what is the best ram to get? Is a Corsair Dominator 1600 Cas7 kit good? Give me some suggestions!

Get some memory with guaranteed Hyper chips, I'm not sure about the 1600 C7 kit. Cosair Dominator GT 2000 C8 and C7 are Hyper for sure, also some G.Skill, but it's hit and miss with them, some are Hyper some are high binned BBSE. Some Kingston HyperX should be using Hyper chips too ( 2000 C8 ). I think Bill is using them, he might have some more info.

Some Kingston HyperX should be using Hyper chips too ( 2000 C8 ). I think Bill is using them, he might have some more info.
The tripple channel 2000C8 kingston kits are all hyper in my experience. The thing is, that's kingston's only hyper kit so they include best hyper chips and the worst hyper chips, it's the luck of the draw.

With Corsair, when you buy to 2000C8 or the 1866C7 you know you aren't getting the highest bin hyper (2000C7) but you shouldn't be getting the lowest either (1600C7)

    dead board

Sorry for not putting in some numbers guys, killed one of my bench boards today, tried Hypro's DDR2 Maximizer on a EP45-Extreme and it just displays FF post code.

Still have some UD3 and maybe a R1E coming in.

Quick question guys: I'm testing the 5970 right now and for some reason I can't control the fan speeds.
I'm running in W7 32bit with the Hemlock beta driver that is out for it and can't control it in Rivatuner(doesn't recognize the card at all), can't control it in Afterburner, or Catalyst. Catalyst is missing the temperature monitor and the fan control...
I need to set the fan so it doesn't overheat when overclocked and overvolted!
    Thanks!

Looked it up and it looks like the Sapphire 5970s have problems with the fan control and I'll need to flash the BIOS...
Hondacity, I'm about to PM you!

The Triple Channel kit or the Dual Channel?

I'm sorry, I don't get what you're referring to exactly.
