i'll say this once more, and i dont intend to offend d5 users.
You guys just havent been in the hobby long enough.

You WILL EVENTUALLY get a DDC. And once u do, you will HATE a D5.
(like in the old days, we told everyone, eventually you will get a 120x3 class radiator, and now its the standard.)

I have had both and gone back and forth several times, never found noise or performance to be an issue with either the D5 or DDC's. I think it really comes down to size and that is where the DDC's come out ahead. As far as I am concerned it's the difference between pissing into the wind and pissing in your hand, you get wet either way.

hmm, so things are going overkill it seems.

who's gonna fork out the cash and get 2 XSPC triple tops and run them parallel?

only $600 can't wait until i get a better job.

    rofl..

ive only seen 1 dude who was running more pumps then i was, and it was by 1.

But he had 3 loops with dual ddc's on each loop.

While i have 3 loops, and only my gpu + cpu loop has dual ddc's.
My board can suffer with just 1, but it has a PA160 all to itself.

Once systems get that big it takes a TON of coolant as well.
Example, my entire system will take 2/3rds of a gallon to fill completely. All three loops.

There are those of us that have been running dual D5's since the days when the DDC failed like crazy (the powerful one) and the only DDC pump top available was the radical, or DIY. Maybe I got lucky, but I cant hear both my D5 inside my case. So for me a 5 1/4 mountable double top is perfect, especially since I run 1 loop.

For me, redundancy > performance > tap water > bling. DDC just didnt offer the security that the D5 did. Now it may be different, but Im not buying 2 new pumps and a new top just to fit in

There where times before the one u're referring, with brown impeller DDC's that didn't fail and the only available top was Alphacool...

no he's talking about the red impeller DDC's.

The ones that had about a 1/4 failure rate.

At least thats what jab-tech john told me. He hated the red DDC-2's because he was always sending one back.

I know m8. DDC had it's ups and downs but generally it's a more suited solution for hw enthusiast crowd. Not that D5 isn't a great pump, sure if there hasn't been any DDC, we would all be running D5's...

Hmmm...interesting...I have your (now old) dual DDC top with pumps on opposing sides...I wonder if this will offer any performance improvement or difference other than being able to attach a reservoir directly to it...

    Hello,

I want to share with you some photos of the Dual Top for Laing D5 / Swiftech MCP655. I tried to find on the web some detailed photos but didn't succeed, so I hope this will be interesting for you.
