    anyone can help me on this ?32nm i9 3.2G xeon need a bios !

    tried on Gigabyte X58 extreme, Asus R2E, Intel S5520SC all with the lastest bios.

    but...they can support up to Q3QQ 3.06G i9 Xeon , but my Q3QT 3.2G xeon been reg as 4cores 8threads 12mb cache 32nm

    that's really bother me.
    if anyone can help get a bios for that,
    i'll show u this sexy baby 5Ghz 3DVantage on Air or maybe 6Ghz under LN2

    cpu pic

    overclk on Air w/o mounting
    cpu running sooooo..........cool , much much better than i7/i5 .
    45nm gonna retired, finnally an exciting product will come out worth for u to upgrade after 2years boring time.

    Whats the problem? Q3QT is a 3.2GHz QuadCore

    So you wonīt get more cores with other bios

    3MB of L3 Cache per cores otherwise 12MB and 6 cores gives only 2MB per cores

    There is no problem, this CPU is to 100% a QuadCore.

    You canīt unlock the cores as on AMD CPUs

    And bios 1639 is newer as 0077 (btw there are also newer beta bios)

    Its not for "desktop"! Its a DP (Dual-Socket) Xeon

    for desktop is only the extreme edition (and this is a hexacore).

    Any possiblity of it working on current single socket X58s (i.e. Classified) with a BIOS update?

    EVGA Bios support sucks, as i know its only support Q3QP (3.07GHz XE) and Q3FE (2.4GHz XE) CPUs.

    On other Boards (Asus, Gigabyte etc) they work without problems with latest (beta) bios.

    I have been expecting a 4(8) core 32nm for a while. This is great news, will be cheap too, i expect.

    cheap? i donīt think so! look how much a DP Xeon (Gainestown) cost

    2.67GHz = ~770€
    2.80GHz = ~850€
    2.93GHz = ~1090€
    3.20GHz = ~1250€
    3.33GHz = ~1300€

    I see, that wasn't cheap, but that's the price for Gainestown. Lets hope we get one of these 4C/8T 32nm for lets say $280? just a wild guess tho, crossing figures.

    No, you wonīt see such cheap 32nm Quad/Hexacore CPUs!

    DP Xeons are expensive, and Westmeres are not cheaper as Gainestowns! The only cheap Xeons are the single Socket CPUs (like your W3520), but there no single socket Westmere Xeons planned (as i know)

    You may be right, and it sounds logical based on the current condition, too. But all this can change very fast depending on the next AMD-CPU (or even a good PR move with some good noise).

    AMD have been very aggressive on pricing the Quads lately (you can get one for about $100?), but the performance gap is still there. Intel can not (maybe will not) compete on price with AMD. Therefore have been keeping a performance gap to AMD Quads all the time. Intel's 45nm Quads will soon (if not already) loose on price/performance to AMD.

    If the next AMD-move can get the performance-gap a bit closer to 45nm Quads, then Intel won't have any choice than dropping a few "cheap" 32nm Quads to maintain a good performance gap to AMD. Then we are looking at about $205+/- price range. But the next AMD-move remains to be seen. Crossing figures

    Hi Victor,

    Q3QT is 6 core Core i9 Xeon. I suggest you get a beta BIOS recommendation from the seller that you bought from him. The Q3QT is a bit limitation from Q3QQ where you can google it and find the difference.
