I'm guessing that even I could get over 5GHz out of that on my old P35 chipset board!

I'd like to see it...I'm curious as to how much voltage it would take.

If Mr. Fearlessleader's main concern is selling it, he could purchase a $25 subscription to XS and gain access to the sale section. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=217292

the funny part is how do any of us know intel WONT put this out?? there now is proof it exists and anyone who says otherwise is stupid cpu-z validation has yet to be cracked and no offense i dont think this guy could do that if he wanted to. facts are facts its real and overclocks great! nice find fearless nice find i wouldnt sell that chip and if you were do the math E8600 costs what now?? $269.00 via newegg therefore E8700 would sell for maximum $350.00 retail even if its a rare chip its not worth more than its worth so now its settled i think this guy is brave for posting this stuff up after being scrutinized and called a liar by everyone.

    market controls price..
Whatever someone is willing to pay for any item determines it's value.

Oh, not called a liar by me..I wait and look and the guy sounded legit to me from the begining.

He wasn't called a liar by everyone.

Most people here just want to see how well it clocks.

I think alot of it was misinterpreted as most people tend to read comments in the most negative light.

Don't take it personal Fearless' forums can be a hard place to sell things. I learned that back when I was trying to sell AsRock ConRoe865PE's. Nobody on most forums believed me either!

I replaced my E8600 with the E8700. After 5 days of use (at stock clocks) I can say it is noticibly faster than my E8600. We'll have to wait til next week for the new owner to unleash the beast.

What do you currently have the E8700 running at?

It is running at 3504MHz stock. I checked the FSB settings for hypothetical OC, and my PC6400 memory would start smoking a little past 4.0GHz! I'll leave overclocking to the xperts. Hey did I just see WaterFlex. I wonder where he's going with that spanker?

$504 on a CPU that is on a platform that might not have much life left....

Awesome. Couldve picked up a nice W3550 for that price... Some people worry me.

Nice WF. Gautum offered me his before it went up. I'd like to play with one but not for more than $200. Have an eye out; may get lucky at some point.
