Just updated; One of my 80gb g2's
CrystalDiskMark 2.2 100MB results:
Before update: 253.3MB / 79.1MB
After update: 259.9MB / 91.33MB
Not bad.

Anyone able to read the Release Notes?

Sure, i never run those ones though so i can't give you before update results..Can you post results at random R/W ?
Seq = 254.2MB / 91.31MB
512k = 161.9MB / 91.35MB
4K = 25.72MB / 75.46MB
It's made the write about 10MB faster compared to the shipping firmware,
but the read's more or less the same.
I've got 4 of these 80 GB drives in RAID0 currently with the shipped firmware 02G9.
I posted my current performance here.
Is there any real reason for me to flash the drives being that I can't use TRIM in RAID?
I can't see any benefits - just risk.

Updating now. I take it the SSD Toolbox is still not up?

Not sure.I'm not hugely familiar with how the technology works. I would have assumed the TRIM command would be passed to all new HD activity and that existing data may need to be 'cleaned up' or 'optimized'. But as I said I'm not sure how it works. Also Win7 Detecting a 'new drive' and asked me to restart.
I have a 80gb X-25M G2. Not expecting any performance increase, but here is a benchmark run a few weeks ago on a fresh format, and the same benchmark performed just now after applying the new firmware.
I guess any performance difference could come down to variance between runs.

Also, I have the Intel Matrix Storage Manager installed. I remember reading earlier that TRIM would not work with this installed? Anyone got any more info on this?
Actually automatic Trim works only in Windows 7 with native Microsoft drivers.

Go to the device manager. Select IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers. If you see Standard AHCI 1.0 Serial ATA Controller then you are using the correct MS driver to enable auto TRIM.
If not you can uninstall the Intel controll drivers and when you reboot the standard MS drivers should install.
Yeah I am confused with this as well. I was using the Asus/Intel driver for the drive. Not sure if it is on auto/native TRIM? I put on the new driver and it seems to work better but I also installed the old ToolBox 1.1 and ran it. Number seem to be the same now when I first did a fresh W7 install 1 month ago now.

Just changed the driver to the standard Microsoft one, seems to be working fine so far.
Except now Windows thinks my SSD and Storage drives are removable and pesters me with the icon in the systray.

I have updated my Intel X25-M G2 (80 Gb) yesterday.
I was a little scared because the update application froze during the update and I had to reset the computer but in the end everything was ok and the drive was updated...
Here are some comparative benchs with ICH7R controller (a bit old, I know...), Microsoft drivers and a 3 months old installation of Windows 7 x64 with daily usage. The full system is described on my signature.

After the firmware update and TRIM manually executed with the Toolbox (just in case):
