Hell no. Those tops rock. No I have an idea for a new build using one of those double wide DD cases. Thinking 2 loops with two of these units. So 4 pumps altogether. Each loop will have 2 D5's. Kind of a waste but I am thinking aesthetics as well as loop redundancy which makes me sleep better.

I wouldnt say overpriced i guess, but definately expensive.

That's what i hate the D5 for, it may be a reliable decently powered pump, but it is inferior to the DDC in all aspects, short of unrestricted flow, which is irrelevant. It requires the stupid ring to keep it together, the DDC just needs some screws. It's large, its ugly, and the only reservoir top in the world costs as much as the pump itself. Its a really awesome top you made, eddy, just a shame it wont be what a lot of people are looking for.

I hope the dual DDC version you hinted at a while back will be a lot cheaper. If it is I'm thinking of getting it depending on whether or not my financial situation even allows more WC gear
Dual DDC already exists...I am using one in my loop with two DDC 3.2s.

Yea, I sold mine when I got the T3. Its a shame they are not being made though. One of the nicest D5 tops out there.

    That should be interesting.

So how is this solution better then dual DDC's on a dual ddc top?

Im very lost.. you guys are COMPLETELY FORGETTING why we get D5's over DDC's now are you?

How about.. umm.. cuz they were hush quiet when downvolted.. now u have two of them so you lose the noise edge they had over DDC's.

Otherwise if ur getting an entirely new pump package, and you pick this over dual DDC's.. oh boy... time to bust out miyuki. :X

Guys think about it.. its a 160 dollars for top + 1 pump.
    Umm dual ddc's + xspc tops = 160 dollars..

Whats the winner? dual DDC's with tops OR a single D5 /w dual top?

i'll say this once more, and i dont intend to offend d5 users.
You guys just havent been in the hobby long enough.

D5's a great pumps, but if i had to start over, i would go for the ddc's. but only for the Tops.

i would be grabbing a XSPC triple top...

I'm with NaeKuh on this one. DDC's are the way to go. I'm among the early DDC adopters and i never looked back...

D5's would be great pumps if DDC's hadn't appeared...

you wouldnt do too well mistaking me for an idiot. Im not talking about "a dual DDC top", im talking about "the DDC version, of that dual D5 top". with res option. in a side-by-side configuration, so you can actually mount it properly.

XSPC actually did have something similar. They new revision of it is a dual loop setup. It seems they stopped making the original version. I went looking a while ago and couldn't find it.

I will agree with you. I do like the look of the EK a bit better. The nice thing about the XSPC is that it is easy to mount and one nice neat little package.

Options are always nice to have though.

Na it's easy to double softmount the pumps in the XSPC

This is just one step away from an acetal version of the T3.
Make it dual 5.25, short, with 4 ports and of course with EK quality - it will be a killer.

Except T3 costs $30 less, another $65 less for no pump #2.....

That's $130 for a serial/parallel setup or $225 for an arguably more powerful serial loop setup...

I'd instantly pay $90 for an EK branded full acetal T3-like... Price is not an issue for me, practicality is (silence, too). And Eddy has proved he is the Michelangelo of acetal.

I think that's a fair price, by reading the above posts I thought it was gonna be alot more than that? 95$ is about what to decent tops would cost anyway. Hope they have some still in stock, waiting for this.

This has nothing to do with performance (well to a degree) as much as the aesthetics with me (cannot speak for others). Seriously I like the industrial look of the D5 and having 2 of them in a loop is more for redundancy more then anything plus it does add to the looks as well. Everyone who has seen my build (especially in person) loves the aesthetics of it. I could have easily went with the DDC's as well but I did not want to. In my most recent build I took out the HDD cage to make room for only the 2 pumps, drains etc to make it look cool and it worked. It was what I envisioned. Now I have another vision with 4 D5's with 2 of these cool EK tops and everything in a double wide DD case because I have a cool idea to make it all look awesome! It will have performance. As much as the DDC's? Of course not but that is not what I want either. The DDC does not look industrial at all to me. It looks like a block. Sure I can throw a couple LED's to make it glitter and stuff but I was and still am after a specific look the D5's offer. As for noise.....with my fans that I have I cannot hear my pumps even if I had them loose and bouncing off of the bottom of the case. I have both pumps running on 5 at all times.

Yeah that too! That's why I will need 4 pumps in the next one...LOL. I could go RD-30's but I hate having to use Meanwell's and a relay. Does not make me sleep well at night.
