Thx for the info... its wierd, i know they passed memtest in windows @ pc1066 before with my 940BE but after some months i started to get blue screens...i did lower cpu speed first but still blue screens random with my dfi board..then i did lower the sticks to pc800 and no more blue screens.

After that i swaped to asus board... then i did not have any trouble with blue screen @ pc1066 , after that swaped to this 965BE same setting first...could do super pi1m 4.2ghz but crashed prime95 3.4ghz-4.1ghz changed to pc800 no more crashes.

Maybe this cpu IMC wanted another settings in bios.

If your ram modules have Micron D9 chips it may be a sign of the chips wearing out.

Did you try higher Vdimm? For 1066 5-5-5 2.25V should do.

If more Vdimm helps it's time to play with the drive strength/skew settings.

    Amazingly close results. Great competition.
Thanks, it was fun! Now, if only I could get Lastviking to play Urban Terror, so I could frag him for beating me

For the 4118 run, I wasn't pushing ram at all. I have 2X2GB Ripjaws DDR3 (see sig). I think it worked out to ~1340 at 7-7-7-21 1T 28 (forget the rest of the subtimings, but I can check when I get home from work) at 1.65v. cpunb was 2000.

My first post of results to this thread was on room temp air, before the duel with Viking. I had had a 3.9 run, but not at high nb, so was trying to find a balance. I ended up at 3850 cpu, 2750 nb, ref clock @250 and 3:10 divider for 1666, still with 7-7-7-21 1T 28 and 1.65v. Wasn't completely stable for 3dmark, but I might be able to stabilize it (haven't gotten back to that yet).

My 790xt seems to have a bios issue with the 1600 divider and c7 (won't post) but is fine going at it the other way. The ripjaws aren't optimal for amd, but for $93 canadian, I'm happy with 1666 c7 and tight.

Hmm Urban Terror new game for me... i need to see what it is , maybe you can have your revange on me in that

Like you did say on the memmory and nb clocks...dont wanted to be that limit my cpu clocks so they was abit low.

    64NOMIS:

    @4100mhz
Nb = 2400mhz fair from limit maybe 3000mhz?
    Memmory clocks = 800mhz 5-5-5

    @4140mhz
Nb = 1863mhz low NB/IMC voltage becuse trying to get high cpu clocks(lower temp)
    Memmory clocks = 828mhz 5-5-5

Not the newest bios also in the Asus M4A79 Deluxe board (bios=1402 i think)

    Nice results
Looks like C3 is a nice air chip also.

Is any one else using the MA790FTX-UD5P, or is it just me? I am to lazy to go through all the post again. I just went back to F3L bios. Will be going for more cold this weekend.

I didn't exactly feel "a lucky boy" when my beloved golden Rampage Extreme exhaled it's last breath but the cpu that came in today eased my pain some.

Tomorrow i'm gonna pick up a new Crosshair III Formula agian (sold my old one) and this time i have 3 pairs of 2x1GB Micron D9GTR based memory to go with it.

    4000 @ 1.425 was not prime stable and i didn't test it at 1.45

anyway, that was with my "stock" fan, now I have two 150cfm fans on the heatsink currently 4100 seems stable (it's 20 minutes into prime small) @ 1.52v, but core temps are ~60C. I didn't try anything else yet.

Nice to see some more results!

leoy: Very nice! I'm thinking about trying this chip in my M3A79-T this weekend for some DDR2 action myself.

    Drunkenpost! Stella & Bourbon!
Think I need to send you this chip Simon.....It's pretested with voltage so.....I don't think it will meet the demise of your 940

Was just doing a compare to see how c2 965 did/does versus c3, whipping out a c3 next as this chip doesn't appear to want any more voltage.

I've got no strings to hold me down.
To make me fret, or make me frown.
I had strings but now I'm free.
There are no strings on me

Rooms still spinning when I close my eyes. Yeah, at 1.53 that's a monster. I would ask if you are on air or H20 but I know your fondness for winter nights and believe it could well be on air...

Oh, and did I mention that the headlines on CNN read like a gossip daily and you should just stay on XS?

Tell Stella I said Hi, and give her a bourbon and coke for me, you might get lucky...

I DL'd GBT's Easytune 5 tonight and have been playing with it, not sure what the deal is, but AOD seems to have some problems with the IMC voltage on the MA790XT-UD4P.... It's nothing new and probably GBT's fault.

Anyway, I actually got it Cinebench stable @ 4.18 w/1.55v and all other clocks lowered (<2100 on the IMC and HTLink)....

I realize there are other things to consider when running high V's (ElectroMigration), but temps weren't a problem (less than 50c)...

Oh well, I've found the limit of my Core (4.16 @ 1.5v)... I'll keep playing with it and see what I can get on the other clocks...

BTW: Drunken posts don't make ya bad! Happy Turkey Day Simon...

LOL, wealthy I have a stay at home wife, 3 kids and a dog... I am lucky to have any PC parts

Ya that board is pretty close. I went back to F3L bios and already seems better. I got my NB slider back in AOD, plus BE memory profiles too. I am still hoping to have time on my 4 day weekend to mod the window A/C unit for my chiller idea. would love to do some 4.4-4.5 3d etc.
