Isn't 4.0 enough? I'm happy with that! =]

Guys anyone know where to get the Asus DOS Utility for Bios flashing?
I need to install and older bios version than the one installed and it seems that's impossible without that app...
(i recently updated my vanilla P6T to the new 0904 bios and somehow it borked my stable OC config, it'll hardly boot when OCed now..)

I flashed to 0704, re-entered my current 24/7 stable settings and came to find out I was LinX 20 runs Maxmem stable with 2 notches lower vcore with this 0704 bios. Running great. I also got 4.3Ghz LinX stable but temps are too high on air for my liking. Low 80's

I had the same problem as S1N3 with the new bios for the vanilla P6T (changelog is the same of the dlx), my prior stable OC wouldn't boot at all, had to clear cmos and start my OC from scratch, changing one thing at a time... i think it's some specific setting that borks it but i haven't been able to pinpoint it yet...
I want to go back to the previous bios but it's impossible with the usual tools, need the DOS utility for this, anyone happen to know were to find it?..

Hey all.. Great thread, highly informative and very helpfull, nice one !!
Have been after a steady 4.2 for a while but was having turbo throttling on my P6T Deluxe V2 with the normal Asus bios (0610) using 21x200 @1.35v (have tried lower vcore but it does a BSOD, am still working on it tho !!). After reading on here about cross flashing, I tried the the P6T-ASUS-DELUXE-v2-0001 bios but still suffered from throttling... Flashed to the P6T-ASUS-DELUXE-0006 and no more throttling
(Forgot to include CPU-Z in the screenshot but it's the P6T Deluxe 0006 bios dated 07/07/09)
Only ran LinX for 10 passes at max mem, all seems good so far, the min and max calculated multi didn't change throughout LinX.. But am only on air cooling and temps peaked at 82C, average was 80C, looks like it's water cooling next !!
I've got myself a Core i7 920 3913B192 and Asus P6T (not the deluxe !) with 6GB of OCZ 1600 DDR3 7-7-7-24 Platinum kit
I overclocked the cpu to 4217 with HT ON and Turbo Mode ON with 1.3750 vCore cooled by OCZ Vendetta 2 + LGA 1366 Brackets + AC MX-2
Here are the other voltages :
I play games for hours with no problems but Prime95 and OCCT are not stable even for 2 seconds
Small FFT rus without problems !
Large FFT or Blend test get errors within seconds !
What should I do to fix this ?
Could I push the CPU OC ay further ?
Is it a good chip to start with ?

stutheterrorist and other users. I have been talking with Asus and they are becoming skeptical about some of the reported turbo throttling. They don't fully trust the i7 Turbo application I wrote and would be willing to believe more if CPU-Z is also in your screen shots showing this same problem. In my opinion, recent versions of CPU-Z that rounds the multiplier off to the nearest whole number is not an adequate tool for the job but my opinion doesn't count.
Can you post some screen shots with the latest 0001 special bios that includes i7 Turbo and CPU-Z during some extreme turbo throttling so both programs clearly show this issue that would be great. Their engineers seem to think that if CPU-Z doesn't show it then it must not be happening.
i7 Turbo is not something I cooked up off the top of my head. It follows the method outlined in the Intel Turbo White Paper that came out last year. If Asus doesn't trust my program then they must have at least one programmer on staff that can write a similar utility in the matter of one day. It's not an overly complex programming exercise.
http://download.intel.com/design/pro...ots/320354.pdf
Intel's paper makes it clear in section 2.1.
2.1 Problem with Today’s Software Reporting Frequency
"....., software that uses the Pstate structures, directly or indirectly, will not properly display Intel® Turbo Boost technology frequencies."
I have followed Intel's recommended method as outlined in this paper while most other programs do not.
Well I'm happy to report I was able to flash the 0006 bios and I have stability once again. I think I may have an idea why 0704 had this issue but I need to check a few things first. I'm also hopeful that my throttle issue is gone, if so I'm fairly certain I can reach a stable 215 block without phase. I'll post up the i7 turbo log uncleweb so they can see before and after. You can even see the heavy throttling in AI suite and that's their program.

unclewebb, studtheterrorist,
just a stupid wondering spoken out loudly:
If ASUS doesn't believe our tools, what tools do THEY have to verify that their BIOS DOES what they claim?
The best would be to plainly tell us which tools they use and let us see what happens....
Just a logical idea.![]()
I just flashed 2704 and was able to get right back to my previous settings, so no problems here.

Looking for a 4.4 stable suggestion, cant seem to find it stable. Ive found a 4.2 but I cant seem to surpass that, so far im good specs in sig but any kind of recommendation would help.
