@Safan80 thanks for posting the Picture on the right ATI Overdrive is the most important.
edit: At what point overclocking wise, did you have to increase core voltage?

Very nice, what is this going to retail for, relative to two 5850s?

Hello buddy,
the server overloaded, the site is being moved right now to new machine, should be up in about 2 hours. We didn't expect such an influx of visitors guys, i had to call the hosting company at 1 o'clock in the night to fix it.
PS: and yea, it was an Intel-based server, maybe it got angry.
heh thought it might have been
its very nice that you guys are getting so much traffic![]()

I bet they left it stock. Also see the power draw. Only 40 watt higer then a HD5870. Thats why ATi kept the clocks low. To make this card overclock well you have to upp the voltages on the cores. I wont be suprised if the core voltages are even lower then on the 5850 cards. (close to 1.0v)
System Specs: -=Game PC=- | -=Lan Box=-
So the card is as long as rumors suggestedThat is kind of a kick in the pants.
Still a better bet than 2 5850s if you have the room I suppose.
I personally still feel that thees cards are being held back somehow... They don't seem to be the improvement then should be, on paper anyways. Hopefully scaling gets a swift kick in the pants over the next few driver releases ( and if my 4870x2 experiance is any indication, I expect they will )

^ that always seems to be the case with the x2 cards when they come out or xfire for that matter..i just wish ati would have drivers out for them that are up to par on launch..it hurts them by not doing so imo..
Well, pretty simple... If you have free slots and a short case then you buy two 5850s.
If you don't have free slots or you case is a monster then you get 5970.
Any info regarding the noise ? The card super long size is supposed to help in the cooling and reducing noise purposes compared to previous X2 cards, right ?
i think hardwarezone has a bottleneck somewhere i thing as you let the cpu fly higher the gpu will respond to that as do most ati cards from at least the HD3XXX series and up
u dont have the same comp as them so comparing apples to oranges doesnt work..i have a 4870x2 and get 40+..figure it out..![]()
and i wasnt trying to be mean..i think it might of sounded mean my fault if it came off wrong![]()

Really would like to see a high-res picture of the PCB. The pcper article has a cut up image, useless for people who actually care how the PCB is laid out. Guess I'll have to fork over $600 in order to see one pulled apart![]()
