No DVD errors here, completed it in 5hrs..
Very good game, ending is pretty friggin' awesome.

Only play COD's for the singleplayer so multiplayer doesn't concern me.
Nicer than pervious versions as it has a much more arcade feeling. Also It's nice they got rid of lean, it's just an aid for people without aim to stay protected anyway.

CoD 2 didn't have multiplayer? That statement is epic imo.

I finished singleplayer this weekend. It is neither long nor short.I guess it could be two or three missions longer, but more of that would do more harm than good, since I was pretty fed up by the time I saw credits...
Imo,CoD4 had better singleplayer experience regarding story,CoD6 has better action. They went over the line regarding weapon modeling.

In summary,it is good SP experience, but hardly worth buying it,especially not for 55€ it costs around here.DVD errors, lack of dedicated, restrictions IWnet throws at you etc - too much for me with that price tag.

single player = that out-of-the-box awesome feeling that lasts for a week tops, unless it is truly unique (not good, UNIQUE, COD12 will probably only be BETTER than COD8, but they will still not be UNIQUE...) (if you play the original COD single player now, after finishing the CODMW2 single player, it doesnt really retain the awesomeness it once had)

multi player = what makes you still play the game 2, 5, 10 years after its intial release, and can firmly keep any otherwise generic FPS in history as a truly great game

Why would you want a game to have an arcade feeling? What exactly is an arcade feeling? Can you give me your definition of what an arcade feeling is?

That out of the box feeling really does only last a short time, especially when it comes to FPS games. RPGs have that feeling for a longer time since it's not all the same thing all the way through and has a real store in my opinion. Multi player is what makes FPS games if you ask me due to FPS games usually having a terrible/poor story line.

haha, arcade feeling? i do not want to feel like i am in an arcade, those games are targeted to little kids and are quite easy.

A real arcade game is more along the lines of "easy to learn, hard (or extremely hard, in some cases) to master", it's not really a kid thing

£40 for 5 hours. Well paid.

This is why I loathe PC gaming, esp. the single player campaings.

Arcade means less realism, not really "easy". It's all good for us single player type guys on the PC. Nobody will notice if we buy the game or don't buy it, but if we download it at least these people won't get our money since they don't seem to care about us anyway.

I'm not sure why you quoted me but I wasn't asking you haha. Anyhow, I'm sure all the fighting games that drew huge crowds over a decade ago were targeted AT little kids and were quite easy to master all of the insane combos that could be done in some of them.

At least some people on this board still understand basic gamer lingo.

I hope to god that most of you are kidding when you act like a game being arcadey = simulating the experience of being inside an arcade.

That's not telling good of the game, it's telling bad of the people. No Boycott will be taken seriously ever if this is what happen.

It seems that the only people who really canceled their pre-orders where those who posted a proof, or have a different Steam username than the one they use on forums...
And even those may be buying the game soon.

PC Gaming is getting screwed, and we can't do a thing about it.
Not dying, just becoming an after thought.
    WTF?

First I dont get how thats related to my comment?

Second I dont own MW2 so what gives with accusing me of backtracking on a boycott? I also have no intention to buy it (nor pirate it).

Well, actually i didn't buy the game for MP - i play Wars TIA on a modded clan server. I am not able to find a MW2 host because my ping, but i knew that beforehand...

Sp isn't bad at all, i am quiet surprised what you can squeeze out of DX9. I play it now the second time with a higher difficulty and don't regret the money spent at all.

Looks like Crysis 2 will be developed the other way around - a full PC game and then stripped down for console ? Should be a cracker with dedi servers...
