    I am completely stumped.
Earlier in this thread I spoke about an issue when raising the BCLK over a certain number (around 206) I start having issues with my TOP(Main) 5870..The bottom 5870 remains working and without issue but I obviously lose use of Crossfire and one of my 5870's. I tried using a different 5870 as the TOP (Main) card to see if it was specific to the card itself, but I have the same issue.

I have tried raising my IOH, ICH (to about 1.375), tried increasing the PCI-E frequency to 103-105, increased the PCI-E voltages, tried increasing the CPU voltage, the QPAM voltages, setting ram to ~1200MHz, etc...NOTHING will stop the TOP 5870 from working over a certain BCLK...

What a bummer, I know this system has more legs in it, but it refuses to comply with Crossfire...My top PCI-E slot doesn't like something about a higher BCLK and I feel I have exhausted everything I can think of to try...It runs PERFECTLY stable at 200 BCLK with very minimal voltages on everything but the CPU which I need to bump to 1.425.

I use 2 x 4870x2 cards, and now bclk is at 211 with no issue on the crossfireX configuration!

I tried a different 5870 in that top slot and it still does it. I am only left to guess that it's a sign to be happy with my 4.2GHz overclock with this chip.

Even with this problem the system still goes into windows (you can tell by the HD activity) but it just will not display video. When I plug my LCD into the bottom 5870, I get video and everything is fine.

As soon as I go back to 200 BCLK(by changing the settings using the bottom card) the first video card works perfect again.

It is a mystery that seems will forever go unfound!

    hello

I flashed with the latest bios 1639 and I have boot problems have reappeared

If I restart it's OK but if I turn off the computer and turn off the power when I start, it's still stuck on DET RAM or IDE DECT, etc. ...

I tried to figure back to previous bios and see if it's OK

the last time was because of the RAM to 2000MHz, bios 1504 was corrected the problem

does anyone has encountered this problem?

    thanks
    Sorry for my english

I have a problem with 1639 BIOS when I try to run my OCZ reaper at 1866 CL9 it won't boot, I don't feel like I wanna reflash to 1504 since I spent 3 days overclocking and testing with 1639!

Maybe some other time I'll do that.

This morning I completed 8 hours of prime at 211.5 x 21 which is around 4.438GHz

Next will be trying to lower voltage a little on the API/DRAM, ICH and IOH a little using 4 hours of OCCT.

After that I'll test My RAM at speeds between 1600 and 1800 if possible with CL8 and CL9.

Try a different PSU. I had the same issue with ASUS Blitz Formula Mobo. After i changed the PSU I had no more problems like this.
It is simple to give this a try .

Quite a few of us seem to have encountered the "totally stable, turn off pc & turn off power outlet and when turned back on, pc very unstable" bug aka the "cold boot" issue this board suffers from.

    I think it's a ROG feature

In all seriousness, roll back to 1504 and see if the problem persists. 1504 is the only BIOS for me that doesn't cause the cold boot problem.

    I completed 8 hours of prime95 + 25 pass of LinX on 211 x 21 at 4438 MHz

But didn't like the temps and voltages which where as following:
    CPU v @ 1.45
    QPI/DRAM @ 1.38
    PLL @ 1.88
    ICH @ 1.28
    IOH@ 1.28
Temps with room temp. at 29c where 82 c !

So I decided to let go a little and try 21 x 201 with some very lower voltages.
I forgot to take a screen shot for the late overclocking...

What temps idle/stress did you have on ICH & IOH with 1.28v ??

same for me 1502 / 1504 removed my coldboot but 1639 brought it back -_-
