melle, where are you planning on mounting the fans to the rad? On the inside of the case, or on the outside under the front cover? Looking at the depth of that cutout you made in the midplate, it seems like you are going to mount them on the outside. thx

I am going to mount them outside of the case the cut out is for the radiator and cables

Ok, that's what I thought from looking at the depth of the cutout. Are you planning on putting the rounded front face plate piece back on afterward? If so, do you think there will be enough clearance between it and the fans? I was measuring on my x2000 here and it looks like there would only be ~10mm of clearance between them.

yes I will defenitly put the front panel back on.
the fans I bought are a tiny bit thinner then normal fans so I think I will have 11 maybe 12 mm clearance between the ans an the front panel I think and hope that it will be enough

I've the same case. Currently i'm sleeving it and later will start with watercooling also. So, don't delay with your build it's interesting.

From my point of view additional 2 fans for radiator is not necessary b/c it's already has 3 front fans.
But probably your radiator is a bit wider then on the pic above.
Also, 5970 can by installed into that case.

yes the 5970 will fit I didn't measures rich but it wont look good and I don't think the card is that good either

my build is progressing very slowly because I am at school from 9 in the morning to 5 midday with is very tiring because I don't have anything to do there so I go and play call off duty with my class

got hold off these two but they are not going in my build they are for my brother and somebody I know

I was just reading that 5000 chips from AMD where going to be available soon because off yields getting better when I got a mail that my video card is just delayed another 4 months

so I looked if there was any card available at another store and the only thing I could find is the 5870 from sapphire and that is imo the ugliest card I have ever seen. So my question is if I could pull the sticker off would it be like an normal 5870 and would that void the warranty

I would really like to hear your toughs about this because there is really no other option I can think off besides then the plan I just explained

Get Sapphire, sure, why not.
They are all the same, just the stickers are different.
And not sure about warranty... probably wouldn't void it.

update

I mounted the radiator and checked if the bottom and upper middle plates still fitted. had to cut some more off the bottom middle plate



got my video card and I placed my waterblock





and I got a new measuring tool so I don't ever measure wrong again



and I got meself a sleeving tool
