You may talk about your experience with DFI too, but you have been talking (may I say bashing?) in a general way, without proper documentation.

It is not a good idea to talk about what you can't get on a MB. Maybe somebody else can find a way around the problems which you failed to figure out. This is where my generalizing are, but yours are a bit different.
the 80C was again because to make sure throttling is out of play which again u dont understand.
and again it was for my table... which u still for some reason still dont get... the ratios gets affected.

    wrong ure generalizing without trying

already told u y. and u dont even get it... the options needed and mem skews needed is just not there on the board on any of its bios.

i have tested more beta/alpha bios than u could imagine... with a few of them being custom bios for options i asked for.
u think it can be done. even when ive said it cant.
please consult ure dfi rep and their replies on bios limitation if u dont understand this... since sitting there and waiting for results is all u do.. lol.

    so the whole page
    1. U "ASSUMED" i did a general statement
and then said it wasnt about it but dfi bashing
    2. U "ASSUMED" it can be done
without trying and just waiting for somebody to do it.

    lol
    funny
also please post some other generalization i did on other fronts.
ty cause u would be surprised how many of them is actually a reply from a dfi engineer

You are talking about too many important issues at one short post. I would rather talk about one issue at a time with documentations. You may start documenting your claims about 80'C-parameter, and
How it affects the DFI or EVGA, each.
Is it affecting the MEM over 2100MHZ or at lower speeds too?
maybe it is only affecting the CPU-frequencies?
    or both?
Try to give some depth, and dokumentation please.

u can test the first one ureself
try high uncore with high cpu speeds on 80C above
the rtl's are inconsistent.. and u get inconsistent results and ratios keep changing... throttling is somewhere 85C

second what u think i have been talking about 2666mhz CPU at dram 2133mhz ram??

mem above 2040.. already posted this so many times in XS,i4mem etc..
on the rtl.. btw do u know anybody else other than me who did 2050 rtl 53??
on dfi and has 100 runs of linx run and yet say its not stable??
like i have nothing better to do unless its true. or has a 2100mhz C8 4.4ghz prime 30 mins with linx 5 runs stable and yet saying its totally unstable
. do u know any one other than me testing these..

2100mhz C7 is seriously no way. as i already said if u were clocking elpida hypers and had both boards in my case two UT's and 2 DK's and one 760..

u still think after 7 months of testing and crunching hours of test on the boards with even actually paying money on phone calls
    that i am generalizing things??

Interesting climes. Maybe we should take the rest in another thread with more details. I'm really interested to see how much extra you are getting by moving from DFI to EVGA.

But i see you are ready for bed. Go and get some sleep, vi take the rest later in a proper way without spamming this fine thread .

Ok, vi take it on PM, or another proper thread.

I have a impression that "classified is one heck of a board for dram addicts". Don't misunderstand me, I'm not disputing the EVGA, but just trying to figuer out where and how you felt short on DFI.

    Vi take it later.

I really wish the Rampage II Extreme allowed me to set the RTL's to what I want, everytime during POST the R2E BIOS chooses a different RTL even though I have not changed ram/cpu/bclk. All I can do is advance or delay that automatically chosen value. Very disappointing. A real enthusiast board lets you set everything yourself. Props to EVGA for implementing this properly.

RTL's are essentially what tRD used to be on P45/X38/X48 etc, however there is one value for each ram bank now not just one overall value. The RTL value is the number of uncore clock cycles (54,55 etc) there are before the data arrives back at the IMC after a read command is given.

Just got my E760 mobo. Installed Vista SP2( from 2nd time, had some issues with install manager <_< ), setupped all drivers from CD, and dl new ones from evga.com. But noticed that sound don't work. Hardware works fine like device manager shows. But i don't see plugged earphone/mic in sound card(using onboard). Realter manager just shows unplugged holes Tried many drivers, old from cd, new from evga, from realtek also. Also tried unplug external interface for pc case, no luck >_<

    Any ideas?
    Tnx

Probably the OS is using "Microsoft HD" device for playback.

    Here is what to do:
    Control panel --> sound
Mark the SPEAKERS as the default device.

@ Sam_oslo. As you probably know, i too moved away from the DFI UT x58 for much the same reasons as cstkl1. Inconsistancy between reboots, a complete inability to maintain the same rtl's. This only aplies to D0's, and does not affect C0's.

One thing is for sure though in my mind, the CLassified is defo the mobo that DFI should have made. Add to that DFI's complete inability to do anything about proper bios support for the UT x58 and D0's, i firmly believe that the Classified is a much better mobo bothe for ram clocking and cpu clocking.
As you can see from the screenie below, it blows the DFI out of the water as far as cpu clocking goes. As you can also see, i don't run my ram at 2000+ 7-8-7, but at 1600+ 6-6-6. Because at this ram speed and timmings, it's faster than 2000+.

i'm also very happy with Classified mobo, and as with you, i nagree that with classified mobo, your can get your cpu faster then other mobo's.

Now i'm playing with some nice toys at home with the classified :

There something wrong with your vtt-vdimm relation as cpu-z only shows 4GB of RAM, but triple channel. Is windows taskmanager also showing reduced memory size? If so, you have to adjust vtt a notch or two.

So even on EVGA and with a 2000MHZ kit, you have chosen to use the x8 RAM?

Hi guys, i got a strange issue here but im not really sure what to do with it.

    Got a E760, formally with the S610 bios ( i think )
Had a 920 in combination with that, ran totally fine under dry ice, booted up at - 68 and such, no problemos.

Bought a W3540 ( used, i know it has a high coldbug , so that shouldnt be it )

    All of the sudden, i have a coldboot at - 30 / - 40 , really awkward.

Tried the S61B ( i think ) bios, didnt really help either.

Anyone has any clue? Xcool jumper doesnt help either.

Is it just a combo of the cpu / mobo, or can i fix it somehow?
really annoying if it jams in windows, in cpu test 06 for example, and you cant just reset it, need to warm it up again etc etc.

    Thanks in advance!

    Memory.

I'm pretty Happy with my memory performance on this board. I'll know it'll change when my second 6gb kit (G.skill DDR3 2133 (PC3 17066)) arrives Tuesday. What would you tweak to get a little more out if this 6gb? Also what changes do you think i'll need for the 12GB? Thanks in advance.

    This is 1683 6-6-6-21

And this is 2100 8-8-8-21.. Need to test stability on this one next

Looking forward to your results.. I'm thinking about swapping my c8 OCZ 2133's for the G.Skill's, because my 4GB kit is kinda stomping in my little P55 setup..

This is what they're capable of at 1.66 vDimm:
