    Easy and very good BIOS.
Just need to push that memory more. When I set it to 910MHz it become unstable (even on CL7 or CL8). I guess I need to play with other subtimings but these ones that are set on auto I don't even know what the most of it means (these ones with multys)
Glad you like it, thats the last bios I worked on with gigabyte.

I stopped when they started adding the unlock features as I felt that it would compromise things for users using high end parts that required no unlocking.

It tends to get a tad tricky on this board after 1800.

1880 will be your limit with this bios.

A shame they took it off the site.

BalB0wa, this bios does not unlock cpu's, it's best used by users who use the chip with the normally designated amount of cores.

You've some tips for memory clocking ? ofc, I'm glad to see "900MHz" for memory but I want to max it out. More voltage doesn't help, just like higher timings.

    Balb0wa, use the google

In that case ( i was looking at your sig ) I would give f3l a try if I were you .

Let me know if you can't find it. I will see if i can host it.

    Bullet.

The multiplier option in ram settings are drive strengths. It is ram dependant. Weak is lower divider, strong is higher.

    Quick ref point.

    D9 GTR/GTS strong drives
    D9 jnl/jnm/kpt medium drives
    Elpida likes weaker

Try going full manual and play in memtest, that should help you max out ram.

Your absolutely right, more voltage will not help.

I'll give it a try. I have GTS chips on these Ballistix
I can upload F3L if you (Balb0wa) want or if you haven't found it.

Not sure if its worth it for me, ive never pushed this ram, or tried to, lol

Also my cooling is a limiting factor on the cpu, using a corsair H50 , still think its better than air though

I put the bios file on a usb stick, reboot and enter bios, and from there you load the flashing app (cant remember what key it was, but should be listed at the top border)

Thanks guys, worked great, now let the fun begin. What is the main difference between 790 ud4p and ud5p ? overclocking wise. I had the MSI GD-70 and had nothing but problems with lockups, so i went with this board. Also if money was not a problem, what is the best memory i can get for this board, or AMD setup ? thanks for your help.

If you want the best of the best, get some Corsair Dominator GT sticks with Elpida Hyper chips, like the ones Brian and I am using. He is running two sticks of a triple channel 1866C7 kit, I have a dual channel kit of 2000C8.

I think the UD5P has more bios options

Ok Thanks Chew, UD4P seems a little weak on bios options, maybe worth the upgrade, play with this board first.

d thing that i noticed > if ddr1333 divider is used, cpu-z showed wrong dc mode: i put ganged in bios but d software shows unganged. no such problem if i use ddr1066 divider. any idea why?

neo mike, you have my 3100MHz (not prime stable but 32M) up. I think it IS worth to upgrade on UD5P. After buying the Corsair GT memory don't be disappointed because not hitting over 1800MHz on AMD setup

Bullet can you tell us some of the voltages for nb@3ghz and memory@1800mhz?

Thanks Bullet, i know the memory limits on AMD , but 1800 cas 6 will suite me fine until AMD addresses the memory controller on there next chip. I was thinking of getting the C3 965, my 955 is doing pretty well on my ud4p 3.7 ghz close to stock volts Just cant seem to get my NB mgz up to 2700-2800 just wont boot, of course my voltage options are limited on ud4p, thats probally where the ud5p would help me out.

    Use 1333 for CL5 or CL6...

I can hit almost 1500 CL5 on cpu with Freezer 64 Pro where I hit the cooling limit... Didn't test it with water cooling...
