Unlocking cores on MSI boards made easy!

MSI has implemented their "Unlock CPU Core Function" in most of their AMD motherboards ( I will see if I can post a list of all the mobos )

On these screen shots I am working with a 790GX-G65 with 1.5 bios and am able to easily unlock a 550 BE to triple and quad core processor...

Thanks to MSI for these BIOS options and their help...

MSI was kind enough to let me post CPU and motherboard support lists and they have been made available from MSI on my blog with up to date info on the topic

    you can view it here

Its very easy just select a few bios options:

1st - go to cell menu

2nd - select Unlock CPU Core to Enable and Advanced Clock Calibration to Auto

3rd - If you want a Triple core - select your cores in CPU Core Control

    Triple core unlock

    Fully Unlocked "Quad"

Have you tried to set the NB and HT not to AUTO? I've been using MSI 770-C45 bios 1.3. Thats very good at unlocking core(s)
but i have lil problem... If i set the value of the NB and HT to 2000, 1800, or any the CPU wont boot... so i've been using the default setting for
NB and HT (auto) with 4th core unlocked

is it happening to your current board?
    Phenom II 720 BE X4 3.217Ghz @1.325v | NB 2.280Ghz @1.25v | HTLink 2.054Ghz
    Patriot 10-10-11-30-42 1520Mhz 1.76v
    MSI 770-C45 Bios ver 1.4
Sapphire ATI Radeon 4670 <-- still saving for 4890 T_T
    Silverstone 500w
Artic Cooling Alpine AMD Pro <-- not good cooling T_T but affordable for me

the fully unlocked quad screen shot is what i was running 24/7 so I was at 260 HT and se stuff to auto for stability sake - wasn't going to waste too much time to get as high as I could get for a regular PC - now if I had more time yes I would have tested for those speeds I was running - but I can say I know what you are talking about as I noticed that selecting the wrong combo of frequencies when under Dry Ice resulted in a hang at boot or a loop in the post process - I was using a pci post card

hopefully that made sense as I am flying by the seat of my pants now trying to get caught up quick...

What I meant that my board cannot boot if the NB and HT are not using the default "auto" value (ACC and special firmwire are enabled...)
thanks for the info anyway... I just downloaded the latest bios (1.4) and everything works fine thanks.. ^ ^
