First OC attempt with Rampage Formula
Hi everyone,
After my IP35 Pro crapped out a couple weeks ago, I replaced it with a Rampage Formula that I acquired new for a mere $140 because of the board's age. I had my e8400 at 4.05 GHz on the P35 board, and I'm shooting for something a bit higher on x48.
Currently, I'm at 460 FSB, 1.3vCore, 1.31 vNB, 1.24 vTT, 1.52 vPLL, and 48-49c max under OCCT load with a Mugen 2. My GTL ref voltages are .63 for both the CPU and Northbridge. I idle at 40c, but I believe that's inaccurate due to a stuck temp sensor; when I'm at 2% load, speedstepped down to 6x, I still idle at 40.
Anyway, 460FSB is completely stable at relatively low volts.
But when I try 465FSB, I get errors even at 1.35vCore, 1.41vNB, etc.
I'm using PC8800 G.Skill PI memory, so I know that's not the bottleneck.
Any thoughts about breaking this FSB wall? With a dual core, I've read that the Rampage Formula should be capable of 600FSB in extreme cases, although 500FSB would be great IMO.
Thanks.
