Hm, that didn't turn out quite as well as I had hoped. Somehow I got weird scores on PCmark (low HDD general usage despite using a very similar SSD configuration to Bill's run) and I think I'd need a fastrer CPU to compete in the Dual 4870X2 category.

Still, I got like 40 points out of this setup... good night.

Out of curiosity, what were you seeing for dual 4870x2 scores actually never mind just scanned the results.....

Wanted to know if my unlocked 860 is worth putting the time in on 3d benching, maybe you should just borrow my chip after I verify where it coldbugs.

    Whoa, congrats
I don't know what's the power cost in the States, but cascades are very convenient. Just fire the thing up and never worry about temps... That's what I like in phase change cooling and dry ice.

I can't wait for tomorrow! The power of C3?!

Catch the Phantom! I'm expecting to see all 965 gold cups on your profile by the end of next week.

TBH thats why i haven't bothered with my other 965 however I hope they actually seperate the classes as all chips are easily identifiable in cpu-z....I really haven't put any serious effort towards bot points, that will come about 2 weeks from now

I expected you to do this, and I can entirely understand your decision. I saw some of your scores were not benched at full force or even under SS.
I'm afraid they won't seperate the classes, they didn't do this when E0 was introduced after C0 Core 2s, so the E8400 and E8500 classes were easily conquered by the new revision. The same should happen with 965 today.

Pardon my ignorance, I noticed his scores yesterday, does he gain anything from running single channel?

All of the hardware I can get my hands on that'll benefit from it will get hooked up to this unit.
It'll be 5870 and e8600 testing first, then some GTX cards with core i7...

Yep it seems pifast and wprime have anomalies....running in single channel allows for him to crank NB without sacrificing cpu speed it seems + the benches don't really benifit from ram it appears which i find is odd with pifast. The other thing I found odd is almost all his results are in multiples of 25mhz, seems kinda generic so to speak.

No biggie i will now bench wprime and pifast in single channel, dual channel of course wins the rest.

All I can say is Have fun!

I'm losing points left and right now, it's so bad I can't rebench certain stuff, or even bench some new hardware....

Yeah, I was really puzzled when I saw it. PiFast might benefit from higher NB clocks more than from actual RAM frequency, and WPrime of course is only about pure CPU clock. It might help your score to run WPrime in Vista though!
His effiency in SPI isn't that bad either considering he is using Vista.

You're right about the 25mhz steps, I didn't notice it before, but now I see it. Look at his profile, all his score are made in those steps.

Yah almost seem generated so to speak......The fact of the matter is benching single channel is cake.

A Lot less work involved tuning ram......

Yep I bench vista for wprime when it's prepped but sometimes I don't have one ready.

Did you look up his profile? You should really do this. All his scores were done with CPU clock = 250 x XX. Weird.

Yeah, single channel might be less work, but I was under the impression PiFast benefitted from faster RAM. Well, one more thing to try.

Yep looked it up thus my generated comment.

I think pifast benefits more from "stable high ram clocks" its a very odd and sensitive bench.

Linuxfan, good going in the nations cup!

Bill and Brian, you made some great scores in 03 and 06!

    166k on water is crazy!

C3 stepping seems to be a worthy upgrade for me, but I will pass the 965 BE. I already have one for hwbot, the 550 C3 is interesting, or maybe a 975 BE...

    I just submitted a 9.219s.

We should be in 1st place after they correct the data base mistake (it's arranging the positions from the greatest to the least).

Great! I think we can get a few more guys with sub 10sec scores and it'll be looking good! We'll have to see what the other countries can do...
Wish I could get my chip a little higher on my current cooling, I think my chip just isn't as good as yours...
