Question Is My Heatsink too tight?

I just got a TRUE rev C today and installed it on my system(DFI 790gx-m3h5 with a 955). I have not started overclocking at all yet because when I enter my OS I can't get any program to display my processor temperature. The programs worked in the past. In the BIOS I get a reading of about room temperature from a cold boot.

My first idea is maybe I have my heatsink too tight. I did not do any mods to the heatsink. I did however remove the plastic piece around the CPU socket. Any ideas? I am hoping to not have to take apart my system again just to loosen the heatsink.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Once I had my Xigmatek SD964 on a bit tight and the temp sensors all ran to 196c and back down (flashing)...kind of a close call.

Then again, the mounting pressure on my Core Contact Freezer is stupid overkill, you would be happier breaking your finger than trying to get it to fit on the mount. (I dont know how I'll get it off...)

    update:

I can get speedfan to give me a temperature that seems reasonable. HWmonitor just crashes instantly. I tried CPU-Z and sometimes it half works. Basically it will give me some information about my processor but not my multiplier, fsb, and random stuff. Sometimes CPU-Z gives me an all blank form. Core Temp worked once and gave a reasonable temp.

    Any idea what I did?

I loosened the heatsink a bit and now temperature probe programs work sometimes. Its an odd problem indeed.
