    Elisha,,, you sure thats F/5.6 ? thats far too much blurring
    unless you did as i do occasionally and do some selective blurring of the background to make the flow pop off the page.

    F-stop doesn't necessarily determine how out of focus the background will be, distance between the subject and the background plays a role as well. If there's a large gap between the two, even with high f-stops, the background will be quite blurred .

    No blurring to the background was added. The flower was actually sticking out from the background plus I believe I used the new Spot Focus option on the 7D that takes a smaller point in focus.

    I took this during EAA Airventure 2009.. focus is kinda crap, but none the less the picture means alot to aviation nuts

    I don't remember and of the settings the camera was on, sorry.
