If he has signed NDA then it is a violation. If not, then there is no violation!

The new revision looks quite good: less power and more overclocking headroom .

    very sweet!
so 10-15W less load power and 100+mhz higher cpu, nb and mem clocks, not bad for a rev change... but not as much as i expected tbh... 100-200mhz is only 3-6% for a 3400mhz cpu... the nehalem c0 to d0 change brought bigger boosts.

but as tesco says, every little helps ^^

This is not a revision change,it's a simple stepping change.

in this case, he needs roughly a few thousands pieces to verify
anyway the statistic could not take as a reference as the piece you got from retail shop is pure luck

All companies issue NDA's when previewing unreleased products to the press. In AMD's case this is a new SKU, so therefore it is significant enough to be protected under the NDA.

    don't be ridiculous
stepping could mean something big sometimes...

Stepping= minor fixes(errata mostly) while revision=more serious silicon changes(think adding virtualization and DDR2 support in the IMC with RevF,changing cores with Barcelona which got a "new" B letter in revision nomenclature, changing process node with Revision G and C,adding more cores with Revision D). Enough examples ? Logically stepping change takes a lot less time than a revision change.

As for NDA on new C3 products, they probably wanted to wait for board manufacturers to produce new BIOS versions which would in turn support more advanced power management which comes with new C3 chips .This new features will shave off a few more watts in idle mode,on top of what Monstru presented in his results. Load numbers won't change on the same system though(they are quite a bit better than with C2).
