Whoever thought of this idea is a idiot and just proves my point, stupid people need to be shot now before they corrupt the human race with stupidity.

Makes me sad, I just don't understand how they can do this and get away with it, these people are not gamers, they so out of touch with gamers, it's not funny, why do we let them get away with this stuff?

Looking at that pic i was thinking that they wil kill a lot of smaller GSP's with this stupid plan.
Im now wondering what my old clan is gonna do with their dedi??
Digiweb in IRE is hosting it, they bought the dedi mainly to run COD games from with a low ping.
A lot of people will have issues with their pings, im betting IWnet will start of with servers only in the US.

This thread needs to go into the news section, effectively the biggest game release of the year has sold out to the consoles.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 will gain so much market share now. It's already confirmed to be a TRUE PC title with dedicated, mod tools, and map editors. I'm going with bad company 2

It has VAC, which I would argue is better than PB. Still no dedicated servers and matchmaking makes this a loss as an online fps.

It is a sad day when a console gamer feels sorry for a PC gamer and very well said I feel.

Quote - wequirezz from IW forums
    http://www.infinityward.com/forum/vi...?f=13&t=121982

From what I've seen, IW has in fact not only destroyed an entire community of gamers, but also caused serious drawbacks that not only effect the PC community, but also effect IW, and the other communities as well.

Please note that I am on the 360, and until recently, have never actually known much about PC gaming, for cod, or any other game for that matter. So if I made a mistake in my observations, please let me know so that I can fix it.

    No dedicated servers

To my understanding, servers in cod4 were controlled heavily. Many wouldn't allow certain special grenades, or prenades, or certain perks, or certain guns, simply because the person/people running the server didn't like those things. The whole point of a dedicated server was that, the termination of certain gameplay elements dictated by mere dislike of certain elements in the game didn't exist. So the players could use whatever they wanted, without having to worry about getting kicked for using last stand, or stun grenades, or prenades.

I also am under the impression that dedicated servers made having good connection, a reality. It also means finding people who just want to play, will be near impossible.

Now, I did do some PC gaming for some time. The only game was halo 2 for windows. And quite frankly, it sucked. Every match I tried to join was either full, or just a large sniper lobby, where everyone had infinite ammo, snipers only, nothing else. It wasn't fun, and it was like that for months. I would've given anything for a real server, with just regular deathmatch settings, and no infinite ammo, and all the weapons available, not just snipers.

MW2, not having dedicated servers, is a massive mistake. Firstly, because no one can just enjoy the game the way it was meant to be played. You would be searching, and searching for games for a long time, either for the server to not allow things like grenade launchers, or martyrdom, simply because the person/people running the server don't like grenade launchers.

So really, the only way you would be able to play the game is if you had your own server, or you were playing in competition or something of the sorts, or you simply complied to the ignorant and immature rules that certain servers have.

Owning your own server wouldn't work out as well, because you need people to play that will like what you like, and chances are those people will be the same people. And playing with the same ten people would be incredibly boring.

Playing in competition or matches wouldn't work, because where would you practice. How would you get the skills to even compete, if every server you are in won't allow certain tactics or gameplay elements.

And quite frankly, its not fun to play a game where you can only use 50% of the things available. IF I joined a match of TDM, and I got booted for using grenade launchers, or last stand, or juggernaut, I would be pissed. What if I was playing in a server and they didn't like my skill, whether I be too bad or too good. Or if they didn't like my gameplay. Some people hate it when they get killed by a guy with UAVJ.

No dedicated servers, would definitely ruin the multiplayer experience for people. IW, this is collateral damage, especially seeing that the whole basis for MW2s popularity is the multiplayer. In fact, multiplayer is usually what makes games now a days. Halo 3 wouldn't be nearly as popular if it weren't for the multiplayer invested in the game. And neither would COD4.

So now, PC players will be left in the dust. No multiplayer, no competition, the game will only be worth as much as the campaign and spec ops, which is about half the game. And I know IW isn't going to cut down their price to 30 bucks for the game.

And PC gaming has been around way longer than our xbox live, or PSN gaming. In the near future, will IW cut us live and PSN players off, just because some new method of playing is out there and is more popular. What if for MW3, there was no matchmaking just because the new method of gaming has become more popular.

This has destroyed the PC gaming community, and in turn doing massive damage to IW.

Infinity ward, this is collateral damage.

well if u have no dedicated then its worthless, but it could be like l4d with group servers, still not something that i think is a good idea

so with no dedicated servers then u have to 1) hope that activishion has a large number of servers and somehow properly configures them (the default settings with cod4 and 5 were garbage and looked to be the 360 settings for rate and interp), or 2) u will have to host your game from your home computer, that means that to not lagg or have lagging people all on the server u need to be in chicago or dallas in a data center on the back bone and u have to have a server grade up and down link of dedicated 8Mb/s or larger, then to not have server lag need 2 cores with about 2 ghz and 1GB of ram that are not being used to play the game.

so with no dedicated it makes it imposable to play online with more than about 8 people, and imposable to have a competative match. and it also makes it so u cant have pubs as u would have to have some1 in there all the time playing and there would be no way to navigate to it without friending the person who made the server

if u have left for dead go and try to host a multi player match on your computer, it will have the same effect as this.

vac sucks its there to make money so it only bans public cheats that it has a hash of so public cheats and cheat engine get banned (cheat engine mods values in the ram so u can set it to make SV_cheats to be 1 all the time), PB isnt much better it dose the same thing but also takes screen shots and has a program to search through them for irregularities like black screens or overlays.

i honestly dont really like ether and would rather have updates change the memory tables addresses every month

when the game dosnt sell or get pirated i think that it will be redone, and it may just delayed and fixed, with the backlash that seams to be stirring up i think that they will fold

This won't be like L4D at all, sadly. I ran a successful L4D server for a while and while people ed about the L4D matchmaking, it still ran on dedicated servers and you could use a server browser if you really wanted. Also, L4D is MUCH better suited to matchmaking since you only need a few people to play.

All of my PB experience has been with the BF series, but I thought it was atrocious. It has way more conflicts with games than VAC and also gives way more false positives. I don't think either system is that great since I have seen hacks being used with both, but VAC is far less annoying imo.

vac dosnt ban any1 who cheats unless they are on vary old cheats or doing stupid things like manualy forcing variables and its updated like once a year

i wasnt going to get the game since it was $60 and for what amounts to a multi player only game thats rediculous, but now with this i see no point in even looking at it.

i was thinking of getting a 360 and the mw2 bundle looked good since i could sell the game for $50 easy and the 250GB HDD for $100 and a 120GB but i dont even want to support this at all

Infinity Ward forums are a war zone over this, mostly with console trolls flaming the PC players.
