Thread: Cable Sleeving Guide

No sorry, I don't think its possible without removing the cable from the board

I don't really understand why you would want to do that, if you are sleeving that cable I assume you would be sleeving the whole PSU, which requires removal of the PSU & all connectors.

If your board only takes a 4 pin plug you can remove the other plug by cutting the wires where they are joined at the pins. If you need the 8 pin it would look better if you shortened the wires that go from one plug to the other. You would need to get some new pins though.

You can use an extender but it would not be good for cable management as you have more wires & connectors to try & hide.

Remember we are only sleeving for aesthetics

I would love to see some sleeve in a bit darker red, almost "blood red" color. Would go perfectly with that new blue color!

Guys... so last night I decided to sleeve @ like 2 am and messed up 2 of the 3 wires on my fan..

If you look @ that pic the little thing you have to slit up to slide it back into the connector.. I kind of cut it right off. I put them in and tested the fan and it worked I was just curious if anyone knows what that is for or if it could cause any problems.

I put a red circle on what I cut off by accident. The connectors went into the fan and are secure so if they serve no other purpose I think im fine.

That looks like the little pin that holds it in the plug. If it goes in and stays in fine, then no worries. If not, then you will need to get a new connector

If you are planning to do much sleeving, it's a good idea to have replacement pins on hand, as they are easy to break/damage

Get a decent crimper as well, it'll make things way easier! Then you can easily make custom lengths of cable

this tiny piece of metal holds the pin inside the connector
if I got your thoughts right, you've cut it off, but if the wire doesn't fall off the connector you are fine.

I have the Lian Li PC-C37, it uses slim profile, might be tough to get watercooling in it

I love it too! But there's another model with an IR receiver if I am not mistaken, might be a little better
