Sure, i've seen a lot of ppl with extensive testing concluding that the performance degration is around 3-5% over time and doesn't get worse then that but i'd rather wait for a solid solution.

It’s no different to a hard drive really. A HDD slows down with use and has to be defragmented. A SSD slows down with use and needs to be TRIMED. Anyway you look at it an Intel drive is faster than a HDD, even if the drive is in a used state.

On a personal basis I have not noticed the effect of degradation outside of benchmarks, but I have noticed slowdowns with HDD as it becomes fragmented.

Native Win 7 OS TRIM support will be available very soon for Intel drives. It’s just a matter of waiting for Windows 7 to be released later this month.

In any case 4K performance is better on a degraded Intel drive in comparison to a fresh ssd from the competition.
