And so it begins! Waiting on more boxes...

Tomorrow I will have to run to Autozone and pick up Matte black automotive paint for the inside of the case! <Insert Evil Laugh here>

Sorry about the crappy phone cam pic, I will break out the Canon when its time for the cooler stuff!

Hi ohms. Nice selection of hardware you have there. A couple thoughts as I read through your proposed water cooling components:

    1) I wouldn't recommend the Koolance 350 water block for your PII CPU. It's a great block, but is one of the most restrictive blocks - I think they have a less restrictive version (340?). You would be better off with a less restrictive block, especially if you are planning on including the mobo water block. The XT is reportedly less flow restrictive, but you'll want to check with Swiftech to see if the optional AM2 backplate is available. You can check some of the i7 waterblock reviews to get an idea of how the blocks compare for flow restriction. Any block that is compatible with AM2 or AM2+ should work with the AM3.

I've only done one recent AMD build, with the 955. I used a high flow block (alphacool NexXxus), and temperatures were great. I seldom saw anything past 40 degrees C at load. This leaves me to believe the PIIs run much cooler than the i7 setups, and the CPU waterblock is not as critical. Not sure cooling the mobo is required either, but it sure can't hurt - another reason I'd go with a less restrictive CPU water block.

Also wondering why you're going with the two different pumps? Absolutely nothing wrong with it, just curious.

Sorry - didn't mean to write a book. There's just so little out here on AMD setups for water coooling, I wanted to share my thoughts.

    haha np Shazza

I just thinking of going with 2 loops mainly because I didn't want to put 3 things that generate that much heat into 1 loop. I was always under the impression that the AMD chips run hotter then their Intel counterparts and the Northbridge/Southbridge/Mosfets in combination do tend to run pretty hot on any motherboard from my experience when overclocking. (my Blood Rage with the waterblock option runs very hot, 120 F most times) So you think 1 loop is fine with the 2 rads?

As for my choice on the CPU block I just never had any personal experience with anything other then the Heatkillers, KL CPU-350 or Swiftech's. I figured i'd try to save a few bucks on the block and just use the KL CPU-350. I was never aware that it was that restrictive, so thank you for the heads up. I will probably try the Alphacool NexXxus X2 Highflow Nickel Plated if Swiftech doesn't release the AM2/3 backplate in time for when I order.

Tomorrow once I get back from taking my pooch to the vet I am going to break down the case and begin coat the inside frame.

Asus Crosshair III, Intel X-25M SSD, (2) Seagate 1TB 7200 RPM SATAs, 8GB of OCZ Black Editions, and the CM V8 which is temporary until I can order my watercooling goodies.

Very nice black job. I only wish I had thought about all these possibilities when I was chopping away at my 840... oh how damn impatient I am. Can't wait to see more.

    Paint job looks great!

Did you decide on your water block yet? Another one I'd consider for an AMD built is the EK Supreme LT ( http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...ducts_id=26343 )

So I have done some work, got the motherboard mounted, cpu and ram dropped in and my temporary cooler the D2X Xonar snuck its way in.

And here is a zoom shot of the OCZ AMD edition memory that I hope will help yield high overclocks!

Here are some pictures of the rig on air, while I wait for my water cooling parts.

I know its a mess of wires at the moment but I don't care to organize the wires or sleeve them until I get all my water cooling items and I am ready to build

Sorry for the blurry picture, I'm not the best camera man.

I have been thinking about picking up a Coolit Boreas MTEC and removing the pump, redoing the tubing and using adapters from 3/8" to 1/2" and incorporating that into my WC system.

Curious, how are you planning on setting up both rads? I was thinking about a similar setup and still trying to figure out the best way to organize everything.

So this is my poor dog Dutch 1 week after his surgery. He looks worse then he is, he's actually doing 100% better then before the surgery.

He got 30 staples in all, 2 incisions on his left side and 1 on his right side which has the most which you can't see in the picture.

I used to have an HAF 932 but I like this case much better. I prefer the cleaner, sleek look.
