    The performace of 5870 is lill bit disappointing.
    i was expecting 5870 to be 10%-20% faster on avrg than gtx295 with early driver and 20%-40% with mature driver.

    What?! In general, those are very unrealistic expectations. There are exceptions - a la G80 - but such monumental gains simply don't happen every generation. On a scale of 1-to-10 in comparison with the performance gains G80 brought to the table, I'd say the HD5870 is a solid 8. And remember, that's not even taking into account the significant performance/watt numbers.

    For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.

    Indeed, FarCry 2 has one of the most extraordinary graphic engines I have ever seen. The scaling is almost unbelieavable, and only when the 4th 5870 is put in the scaling is not that good anymore. I realy love Dunia, only a few engines can match this kind of optimisation.

    Hrm... those results seem very sub par, seems you hit the cpu wall before you hit the gfx wall, as the 5850 xfire is hitting sli 285gtx pretty consistently, and the 5870 xfire isn't pulling out that much farther ahead..scaling wise.. wierd because as single cards they consistently beat the 285 by predictable margins.
