Newest BIOS works great for me - took out all of the kinks.
I can't remember who I got my file from.
What gets me is that they are still asking 159.99 for the I45 PLUS shipping!
It should be 119.00 plus free shipping by now.

I have the 9/02 dated bios and it works fine, unstable settings while pushing OC to limit and everything boots just about every time, doesn't hang on windows loading hardly ever which it used to randomly (albeit not a lot) on startup, just overall seems to work better from what I see, I'm actually frustrated by my e8600 not this board...lol it hits a wall at about 4.52 ghz on air and it just is too hot after that and that just appears bleeding edge OC unless I invest in some ridiculously high cfm loud-as-hell fans.

ok, edit...9/02 bios SUCKS!!! nothing is stable with linpack testing, had several weird startup issues on my configuration, and just all sorts of quirks and so on...best bios of all I tried....7/09 bios, whatever # that is I currently am using it, and it is much better

    Hey all,

I have a TPOWER I45 coming in soon which I'll be transferring my Q6600 (VID: 1.2500, runs at 3.0GHZ on stock voltage in a GA-P35-DS3L right now) into along with 4GB of RAM (4x1GB). I'm looking to OC it to at least 3.2GHZ with a FSB of 400 (maybe 3.6GHZ later if I feel like trying for it). Any advice on voltages, etc. that I should be looking for, or should auto settings be fine for that kind of OC on this board? I've read most of this thread but much of it is people going with very high FSBs (500+), so I'm trying to get advice that may be more relevant to my situation. If anyone can help out, I'd be really grateful for it.

Also, should I pull off the heatpipe and SB coolers and put on OCZ Freeze? If I do, is it fine to just put OCZ freeze directly onto the PWMs (I assume that's the part of the heatpipe that isn't the NB)?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Guys, I have a problem with my "new" I45 tpower.

Before this MBO i had Asus P5k vanilla, and my q6600 hit 450FSB at first try, and was rock stable at it. Note that I only ask for FSB freq.

Now, on I45, my mbo is unstable even at 430FSB, and I cannot make it boot on 450.

Am I doing something wrong? What bios options do you need me to post, just say the word and I'll write

If that is the official latest bios, as I suppose it is, didn't help at all.

BUT, I backtracked to 710 bios and voila, boot@470MHz possible.

Dunno what have they done to bios, but obviously doesn't go along with my q6600.

Of course, my strider 600W burned because I had way to much load for it as it's vent is blocked by a HDD cage in my lian pca05... 4010MHz and 1.76V.

The Antec power supply calc says an enormous 329W drawn just from CPU

Hope the rest of the system is allright, don't have time to borrow friends power supply.

Post your bio setting and lets see how you got them setup...that cpu VID Voltage Range is between 0.85V-1.5V hopefully you have the (C1E) and the E1ST Function Disable you should be able to get 3.4ghz out of with with this board all. I can say something not right in the bio setup some where are you running 800 or 1066 G.Skill,Please post a Link to your ram.I would like to know what your working with...

    Hey!

Well, I really do know how to OC, that is not a problem. Facts speak for themselves: my MBO literally burned down at my sight moments ago. One MOSFET for CPU voltage adjustment burned, so it is bye bye i45.

1.76V was obviously too much for my board.

Before that I had q6600 24/7@3800MHz with 1.53V and it worked like a charm, but I was always hungry for more, as it is my passion.

    My words for the end:

    RIP Biostar TPower I45.

Few (or tens) pages ago, I showed pictures about MB that died as yours with less voltage. It can not handle more than 300W load (someone should write it into the first post). You could mod the mosfet cooling but the peak will always be less than 220A (for CPU).

I've just got a new E8500 E0, and I was wondering if there is a definitive guide to all the options in the BIOS I need to tweak for a good overclock?

My E8200 C0 will not do more than 3.6ghz no matter what I try, but I'm also conscious of the fact that I don't know what the majority of the settings in the BIOS actually do, haha!
