So there are two new Xeons coming? Also 6 core hopefully...
anyone have classified , and what is the "bigger" bclk on it?
Gonna give that bios a spin tomorrow or so... but I fear our sample board will not play along :p
hope DFI offers a microcode update within the next weeks! :P but damn nice clocks here. 1,48V 4800 stable whohoo... 4500mhz 24/7 @ 1,4V would be nice![]()

The second quarter of 2010 was the original plan which is about April.
The way the ES processors are running on this thread, if Intel gets worried about their competition,, maybe they will hit retail a little sooner.
I agree. With these many CPU in hand of these nerds, this will probably become of those out of clear sky CPU-drops.
Probably Intel got some info about a AMD-drop, and keeping prepared to counter it?

These Core i9 look pretty good, though I wonder how much they will cost and how much heat they will generate on load.

I made some progress on updating RealTemp tonight to support the new Gulftown CPUs.
Internally they are organized as 2 x 3 core CPUs. If you download the above version of RealTemp and copy it into two different folders then you can go into the first folder and edit the RealTemp.ini file.
Use this:
Skull=1
and in the other RealTemp folder, add this to RealTemp.ini
Skull=2
Now run two instances of RealTemp, one from each folder and each one should be able to read 3 of your 6 cores. Not a perfect solution but at least it's a start.
It will read the correct TJMax from each core and should show the correct temperature.
After I get some feedback I will look into writing a 6 core specific version of RealTemp but hopefully this will keep users happy for a week or two.
Under Construction
Edit: Here's the first official RealTemp GT beta 3 for the Gulftown processors.

Anyone with classified?
No comment..

i wasnt given a green light to post yet..
But i am on a classy.
The one siting next to me right now says i7
But the sheet did say i9.
With cpu-z 1.52.4
Says Intel Core i7 Extreme.
Man u guys who dont have to worry about NDA are lucky.. :\
They dont run hotter if thats what your asking.
I had both my 975 and this Gulfy @ near same clock. The Gulfy required a tad bit more voltage to hold oc tho.
Heat wise, they were running close to each other.
The delta from ambient / coolant / was relatively close.
So the 32nm makes up for the extra 2 cores in terms of heat.
But this is off a loaned ES processor, so don't quote me on this on retail.
LOL after last night.. do you really think they have anything to be worried about?![]()

What about SPI results? It looks a little crappy.
When other marks looks insane I'm quite disappointed with SPI.
