OC Nub were you able to get more out of the chip? Temps look great! I'm @ 200 Passes @ 4Ghz 1.3V but temps hit 87C. But thats just LinX...everything else runs pretty cool.
I think 4ghz stable will be the limit on reasonable voltages.

Just an observation, I don't see many people trying a lot of stability testing on these. Everyone's definition of stability will be different, however you normally see more than just some max spi runs or a 15min blend run when testing a new chip. I have been looking around at the different forums and see a lot of "4.1ghz Stable !!!" with a spi32m or even a spi1m run for the proof of stability testing. To each his own but I want to know for myself if these things are any good or are they junk.

That is really good man. Yea I never really considered spi a stabilty test...though some do as you said.

I've seen these posts as well and definitely don't call SP32M stable. It's a single threaded bench for heaven's sake. Anyway, I think I made it to 3.8GHz stable; 1.304Vcore loaded & 1.30v VTT. Pretty much everything else auto. Here's an hour & a half Prime. I'll call it preliminarily stable. We'll know for sure when I get around to folding on it.

[XC] gomeler - Public note: If you PM me to tell me that I am disrespectful at least have space in your PM box so I can tell you I don't care.

Very nice oc. How do you like the GSkill's? I would like to try some faster ram than these 1600's.

Thanks Cr0n1c, Hope to see more people getting these boards. My first EVGA board, I am pretty happy with it.

Thanks! Don't mind the RAM at all so far. They're very easy to get along with. Running the above OC (DDR3-1811, 9-9-9-24), they're at 1.63 volts. I haven't really done much with them yet TBH. They were down-clocked for the review b/c I was matching a previous 920/x58 review for comparison. After I finish messing around with the CPU, I'll see how far the RAM will allow itself to be pushed. One thing at a time.

    @OC Nub,

You have any issues installing your sound card in the PCI X1 slot? I'm looking at this board and was worried it wouldn't fit.

None, I have tried the titanium and the older xtreme gamer, both worked fine. The titanium is in the top slot above my gfx card now.

That 4Ghz is stable right? And the temps seem pretty good as well. What cooling are you using?

I'm getting the Zalman CNPS-10 EX soon, I've read some reviews its pretty good, is it, and will it do 4Ghz on air just fine?

OC Nub is on water. From his sig: XSPC rx360, GTZ Extreme, MCP 655, EK Multioption res400, Scythe 133cfm's.

He's doing a bit better than I am. Finally got 4GHz stable but without HT. Rather than add clutter, here's a link to the post with details. My water loop is in sig as well.

Just thought i'ld add my two cents here. I have an i7860 and a EVGA p55 sli. My chip requires 1.425vcore for stability at 4221, with a vtt of 1.45. Of course i have to run my memory at 1.77 to get it to clock over 2000. I'm stable under max stress on intelburntest, I might run it again tonight and post screens.

hi guys, i'm in! today i've bought this M/B with mu X3460 Xeon processor ... :p

next week i need some tips from you, cause this is my first evga mobo ... is there any template for the bios settings?

anyway, i saw that there are many troubles with the latest bios, so i think that the better idea is stay with the installed bios, and wait better times ... :p or not?

the i7 860+ evga P55 ftw is a combo Ive been looking at getting for a friend of mine, along with a 4 gig kit of g.skill ripjaws memory
how have those who have the 860+ftw combo been liking how it's been performing, and if I'm on the right page for memory selection
full planned system specs *as planned* are
    Core i7 860 w/ coolermaster hyper 212 heatsink
    eVGA P55 FTW
    4 gigs G.skill ripjaws (G.SKILL F3-10666CL9D-4GBRL Ripjaws PC3-10666 4GB 2X2GB DDR3-1333 CL9-9-9-24 Core I5 Memory Kit)
8800GT (he's had his for less than a year and is planning on keeping it for a while)
Corsair TX750 (HX750 if I can get it at a decent price)
WD black 640GB (he's barely scratched the 250GB drive in his current rig)
    all in a HAF 932
    Current System:
    eVGA 680i SLi "A2" P30 BIOS
intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (currently at stock)
    OCZ ReaperX 4GB DDR2 1000 (running at DDR2 800 Speeds with cas4)
    320GB Seagate 7200.10
XFX 8800GT XXX 512MB (stock clocks)
    auzentech X-Fi Prelude
PC Power and Cooling Silencer 750 Quad Copper
    Win XP Pro

    Thank you.
I have these settings in bios:
    VCore 1.4125v
    PCH Voltage 1.125v
    CPU PLL VCore 1.80v
    CPU VTT Voltage 1.375v
    DRam Voltage 1.65v
    With VDroop
    1600 Strap
    Advanced Mem Settings-1067, 8-8-8-24, trfc 60.

Chrono Detector: I am not familiar with that cooler, I am not sure what temps will be with that. To pass an 8hr blend run it may require a bump or 2 in vcore, but is fine for now.

I also have very cool air on my rad so these temps are below what would be normal. I tested the temp of my rad (not the actual water temp) with a DMM and it sits at 12c when running blend or LinX. I turn the AC down to 60f when stress testing, it sits directly behind the rad.

what about the PWM Frequencies? also the boot up and the eventual voltages are the same? and the lastest: why you haven't disabled the vdroop? have you left the QPI and the PCIex on Auto?

    too many questions?

    thanks, mate

The board over volts with the Without VDroop setting enabled so I disabled it.

also what you think about the pciex frequency @around 110mhz? isn't too much?
