I have to agree on this...

    HD4770: 640 Shaders, 32 tmus, 750mhz GPU, 800mhz GDDR5 @ 128-bit
    HD5750: 1120 shaders, 56 tmus, 700mhz GPU, 1150mhz GDDR5 @ 128-bit

Anyone else think that this has to be early driver issues? There is no way I can believe these synthetics are anywhere close to it's true performance, also the CPU used was a Dual-Core downclocked to 2GHz? I meen it's also competing against GTX260 and GTX275.

HD5000 isn't scaling as it should... coult it be driver issues or something going on with the architecture reaching it's limit?
hmmmmm yes thats even more obvious than the 5870 to 4890 comparison...
and then compare the 5750 to the 5850 and 5870... again there seems to be no real scaling from adding more blocks...

    really weird...
could it be that the reworked dx11 cores are slower per clock than the previous ones? they must be notably slower though...
i mean the 5750 is almost double the 4770 in specs...

My bet is driver issues and possibly that underclocked CPU... atleast I hope so. Waiting proper reviews, if this thing really is this bad it's a HD5850 for me...

Better specs than expected, a GPU like that can beat any RV770.

So 5770 will have similar performance like 4870? I like this

Between HD4870 and HD4890. Sometimes more, sometimes less.

Without AF there should be a really nice performance boost due to memory bandwidth bottleneck. AF is quite bandwidth heavy, so without it the perf should go up very nicely. On the other hand, the performance is going to "crawl" with AF. Again, depending on the rest of the hardware, game and actual situation in the game.

Someone should do a table with a few games which shows the performance with different amounts of memory bandwidth.

But meh, I guess it all comes down to guessing how "bandwidth starved" the card is. E.g. "128-bit bus" -> "Ok it sucks!".

cant be THAT much of a diff tbh cos honestly wasn't ati like 90% ready for dx11 anyways ?? and its pretty much the "same" core in a nutshell :/ so imo it should perfeorm vaguely the same...

im oits the cpu.. who downclocks to 2ghz .. when most people benching with i7's at 4~4.2

Something is definitely off with that performance, but the specs are not bad at all.

Still, for $199 on the 5770, you mind as well spend $60 more and get 1GB DDR5, and double the bandwidth. Have a feeling most 577x cards are going to be 512MB

CPU is not underclocked..... its just Speedstep on an e8400 bumps it down to 6x333 @ stock idle

ahh my bad. well still just odd benches. i still put it down to his setup till i see some more reputable source benching the cards

anyone else wondering what kind of idle/max power this will use?

Is there any chance 4770 will have a larger memory interface? seems like these cards could be a perfect replacement for my gtx260's i'd just be a little bit worried about memory bandwidth limitations.

Guys, this is Cypress, not Juniper, the 57's are bad cypress cores.

hence why I'm hoping that the SP unlocker will work with the 57's, 5870 power for $150

the chip looks very tiny, no way its unlockable.

There won't be any "limitations" on this card in games... It has higher bandwidth than HD4770 and HD4850 so it should do ok...

Can't wait for real proper reviews to show up, something is wrong with this. There is no way it performs this bad with those kinds of specs.

it looks like alot of the 5xxx cards are under performing, i wonder if they have too much stuff and just need higher frequencys

    it's probably the drivers, and by Q2 2010 we'll probably see a 20 to 30% performance increase.

yeah im not impressed with the performance relative to the amount of change. i could either buy a 5850 for 260+$, or a second 4850 for 100$ and be just as happy.

Should be something like 10-15W idle, 50W load.

50W load wouldnt need any PCIe connector at all would it?
