9800GX2 spanks clearly single GTX 280 so there is no argue about GTX 260.

I just tried SLI hack with my HTPC but seems like there is something wrong in itīs bios or in the board itself.

Board is Asus P5E3 WS PRO with latest bios. If I add card in another slot my Vista X86 freezes in loading. Then I did take new HDD and installed Win 7 X64 to it but drivers did not install to that second GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB card, no matter what I did, with and without SLI bridge.
Driver version I tried was 190.89.

the hack is designed to work with 190.62 version of drivers,

@bulldog, did you or can you enable ACPI v2.0 in your bios? if so enable it and re-instal OS, then download latest ACPI driver from microsoft, via win update,

then run the slistring instaler, and latest halmod v8.0,

Weird thing is that drivers will not install even without SLI bridge.

Im still getting nowhere on XP-32

    I think I have 2 problems...

1/ Copying the modded nvlddmkm into system 32/ drivers..... its a new file- its not replacing anything???

2/ the modded hal.dll results in a no boot due to file corruption

Please can someone do an idiot-proof guide for XP?

i thought the "nvlddmkm " is only necessary for win vista/win 7 ? i didn't need it for win xp 32bit.
the modded hal.dll doesn't work for me too.

btw. confirmed 2x gtx 295 working on a rampage extreme, altough the score is a bit low for now.

It wouldnt be SLI in that state. It would be card + physX

Still cant SLI different cards.... im not sure where that rumours came from????

This is chipset support, nothing else

the modded hal.dll doesn't work for me too.
I'm running Win 7 7100 64 bit. All that was needed was to run the SLIstring installer & the Halmod. I used Halmod 0.7. I didn't change the nvlddmkm file in system32 foilder. SLI running fine.

Which board sir Kenny ? Otherwise I share ya my file... we had some issues benching with the REX and the 9800GT's, you've seen the scores. Under the hack those cards seemed to perform lower in clocks than with regular drivers, SLI or not. We got loads of image corruptions, unexplainable freezes,...

Luckily the CPU power makes up for it... and we had limited quantity of LN2 there so we didn't have much time to tinker with it...
