Chuck some ice on the radiator for your GTX 295s, they can do 800MHz on water, the EVGA Enthusiast guys proved that. Insane how well those GPUs scale with cooling.

looking at the weather forcast, lows for this weekend will be 33F. so should see 8-10C water flowing through the blocks.. will try to see how far they will scale with that.. I can set the PC up on the patio table with some box fans.

It's time to party, we hit 7000 points today!

If we continue to rise like this again, catching United Team of Poland until the end of '09 might be possible ( now we are at 7030 points already )!

Here are the scores that made this possible!

Boyne7 is already running a Crossfire setup of two 5870s, scoring more than 25k in 3Dm Vantage! Another member, MTP04 is also running a single 5870 and he is scoring 361k in AM3, 93k in 03 and 37k in 05 with his E8600 running at 6300MHz under liquid nitrogen. Linuxfan is now running two GTX 295s after single card action yesterday, pushing his card to 702/1148MHz on water he manages to hit 32,5k in Vantage, 133k in 03 and 35k in 05! The biggest contributer of today is Junior a.k.a PcCI2iminal, running is Core i7 975 at 5250MHz under dice and 3 4890s in CFX mode. He was able to achieve 45k in 05, 152k in 03 and 29k in 3Dm Vantage!

I saw Pedro Rocha was online at hwbot when I took the screenies, so I hope he will post some results too!

PcCI2iminal has passed Pedro Rocha and is first in the team now too! Congrats!

Edit: I've PM'd PcCI2iminal and Boyne7 to get them into this thread!

    Hey guys,
I got RAID 0 running with two Vertex 120GB SSDs, and installed windows Vista 64bit fresh on the drives. Installed PCMark 05, the raid drivers, intel matrix storage, and hdtune. I'm getting really bad scores compared to the one SSD I ran a few days ago...
I was booting off of a different drive and running pcmark off of the hard drive then, now I booting on the SSDs and running the test... Does that make a performance hit?
Did a few tweaks and enabled both of the advance write performance settings...
Before: 67mb/s xp startup and 55 mb/s in the general usage test.
    Now: 51 mb./s xp startup, 19 mb/s general usage.
I also did some registry tweaks that I found on the OCZ forums.

What should I check to fix this problem? It should be running faster in RAID 0....
    Thanks guys!

I should be able to grab a few more points soon. Just got two 3850 X2`s and a Blackops board, just need some good DDR3. Also in the middle of volt modding 4 8600GTs. Stepping up soon to X58Classified/i7 920 or i7 860/Maximus 3. Cant make up my mind which yet.

My vote is for the X58Classified/i7 920 - its your best bet for a benching platform base

Yes this makes all the difference, leave the raid_0 array with PCMark05 only and OS on any other drive. Always remember to HDDERASE the drives before creating new array. Before installing Windows Vista, use Win7 CD to Diskpart > Select Disk (ssd array) > clean > create partition primary align=128 (or whatever strip size you chose) > select partition you just created > active > formate fs=ntfs quick > then install OS on the other drive.

When we don't run the OS from the Raid_0 array I found those tweaks to be useless. You make sure you check the Enable Cache under Intel Matrix Storage 8.9.

No problem. Its hard to find the time some days. Hardly seem to get any time to bench just lately. Working off backups mostly.

@TheGoat Eater...This is what i was leaning towards after seeing what others have done with it.

@Jor3lBR... No that wasn`t me. I got these new from UK store, £64 each, which i didn`t think was to bad a deal.

    I'll try that tomorrow then...
I'll use hdderase on the drives, then redo the raid 0 array.
I then boot into my old installation of Vista 64bit right?
Tried booting into Vista today on the other hard drive while the raid was enabled on the SSDs, and it would BSOD when trying to load Vista.
Do I need to load RAID drivers for my Vista install to boot with the RAID partition enabled and the SATA mode set in the BIOS to RAID?
I did skip the partition align step when installing Vista... did that kill the scores also?
I hope it works out well tomorrow, thanks for the tips!

If you use the diskpart like I said and formatting the raid array you won't need the sata drivers.

If you still get bsod when loading windows probably a fresh install on the old drive is the way to go.

I have done the best 1M on air for the Phenom II X4 965 category on hwbot with my crappy CPU...

16sec390ms at 4161MHz... PP looks good even without heavy tweaking. This is all done with hardware tweaking, no copy-waza ( not that I didn't try it... trying it made my system crash at high clocks and the gain didn't pay off for the lower frequency ).

I made some 32M runs too but performance is bad, the CPU gets very very warm and I think I'm experiencing thermal-throttling, just like when I tried 1M at >4.2GHz.

So now I'm at least a bit happier with the scores I was able to make with my 965.

    hmm, mailed a webshop in holland here, i can get a 3920B i7 950.
Doubting though, 'B' always been good for me, packdate 09/05 , so brand spanking new.

Although it's so expensive here in europe, wish i could pay in dollars, they're worth nothing :P

Still getting a slightly lower score when I set the two SSD drives in RAID 0 with the ICH10R chipset...
Oh well... One Vertex isn't bad... Pushed the CPU clock a little and got 20K in PCmark 05 at least... I'm happy...

A little overview for yesterday and the day before:

On October 1st, deachus posted a single card 3Dm Vantage run, almost hitting 16k. Datura on the other hand is on old-school hardware, pushing his Pentium 3 to 1575Mhz under single stage from the stock 1GHz. Jakethesnake011 is also running a HD 5870 already, achieving almost 19k single card in 3Dm Vantage.
On October 2nd Linuxfan posted his PCMark 05 run and he hits 20k!

Hondacity, congrats for being the best scoring member of Team.XS for September!

For now this will be the last of my little overview, I'm moving to Munich today to go to university, and I won't have an internet access in my new home until 19th October.

See you then, happy benching and "keep pushing it"!
