Chr0nic: what do you have set for PCI-e Freq? I have been using 100 but wondering if increasing will add some stability and stop the problem I'm having with this.

When running blend at over 4ghz somewhere around 2hours of blend I lose video. No bsod, no freezing but video is lost, doesn't reboot or seem to be the normal freeze. Cannot get video back so have to hit the restart button or power off. I don't get the normal screen on boot when overclock fails it reboots fine. I am guessing this has to do with the on die pci-e. Anyone else experience this?
Yeah, I get that problem sometimes, too. But usually, i crash because of RAM, i think one of my slots or modules are broken. I can't get my OC i used to anymore.. and it stops detecting the other module sometimes. If i take it out it works fine. might rma.

I'm testing to see if lowering it, or overclocking it increases stability. I would think lowering it would, because its "connected" to the CPU, not the NB, so maybe lowering the clocks could possibly give it stability. We'll find out.

The guy on the EVGA forums suggested setting it to 104. Will try it to see if it does any good. May just need more vcore or vtt.

Blending again at 4ghz to see if it freezes again at 2hrs. I went up on pch a notch and also up on the pci-e freq.

Froze up at 1hr55min right after I took a ss. It is freezing up, not a video issue like I thought. Guess it just needs a little more juice.

This rig runs smooth and fast but I must admit it is getting boring fast to oc. There is less to tweak than on the 775 board I was using before. The 1.65v limit on vdimm hurts as well. I miss my GSkill pi's at 2.3v and my 9650 at 4.5ghz lol. I am unsure as to what some voltages are considered "safe" to run. The on die pci-e thing threw a wrench into overclocking it I think. I may put it away until more is learned about this platform.

I left it at 100, I saw that they used 104 @ eVGA....couldn't quite understand that. May test it myself.

It does i think, however i think i remember hearing that it does not ship with the crossfire bridge (because evga <3 nvidia) so if you have a crossfire bridge or can find one cheaply then it does......

It can run Crossfire, eVGA has stated so in a thread on their forum. However as said...you will need to supply your own bridge.

The CF bridge comes with the video card on all ATI CF ready gfx cards. I will find out this weekend how CF runs on this board. I still have my 4890's and want to compare performance against the 5870 on this board.

I will try and get this chip on water tonight. It was suggested that I am failing blend at 2 hrs due to temps. It is running in the mid to upper 70's c. Is possible I guess that is the cause.

I think the FTW edition is the 657. the 658 is the one with the NF200 chipset.

OC Nub were you able to get more out of the chip? Temps look great! I'm @ 200 Passes @ 4Ghz 1.3V but temps hit 87C. But thats just LinX...everything else runs pretty cool.
