    @[200]: For higher uncore (what CPU-Z reports as "NB speed") you need to raise Vdimm. Also, cold on the CPU helps with high uncore, most chips will top out between 4200 and 4400 on water but can do more on SS/Casacade/DICE/LN2
    Thanks...

    I just raised the CPU VTT to +300 and uncore stable past 4ghz

    i have found the problem for my shutdown-troubles

    it is not the PSU!!!

    Last night i try every bios setting and found that Virtualization Technology makes trouble.

    If i activate VT, the PC shutdown after Windows reboot.

    Can someone please try it?

    for the pheonix bios this was the only workaround for dfi and evga

    it has to shutdown and restart to work.

    Smile Thanks - guide to flash Classified BIOS

    Hondacity / hiwa / webwilli - Thanks to all for the great tips on how best to flash the BIOS on the X58 Classified!

    I'm still on the fence between the X58 3X Classified and the Asus Rampage II Extreme.

    Fortunately, this is a wickedly busy period at work so I have another 7 to 10 days to ponder the pros and cons of each before pulling the proverbial trigger. If I drag it beyond that my HAF932 case will literally be screaming at me for the rest of the build.

    Go for Classified if you can afford it, you won't look back.

    Sorry for the following pics but I am stuck...

    I recently purchased a S.S. hoping to get some good frequencies for benchmarking. I loaded up the same settings that I was using for watercooling to get the CPU around the 4800mhz range for SuperPi. Now that I have the S.S. I am unable to push any further than what I did with the watercooling. I tried a few other settings that people have used within the thread but don't have any luck. The highest I could boot was around the 220bclk mark, maximum I could raise was to 229 with the e-leet program in windows.

    I am currently using
    - Xeon W3520
    - Corsair HX1000W
    - WD640 Caviar Black
    - EVGA GTX 285 (I have noticed that people have been using a less powerful video card, I have a spare 7 series geforce that I could throw in pending suggestions from this post - hopefully there will be a couple).
    - 6GB Mushkin Redline Ascent XP3-12800

    I have also noticed that my hand controller will indicate -47 degrees but the BIOS will indicate -22 on the actual CPU, is this normal?

    Screenshots;

    Sorry about the long post but any help would be great... I am starting to think that my CPU may not be up for the task but in the back of my mind I think there is some more tweaking I need to do in the BIOS.

    Thanks

    Okay, got most of it figured out. Feedback is more than welcome

    * EVGA X58 3X SLI Classified E760 with E760S61A BIOS
    * Intel Xeon W3520 Batch Number 3845A935
    * 6GB Mushkin Redline Ascent XP3-12800
    * Western Digital 640GB Caviar Black HDD
    * EVGA GTX 285 Superclocked GPU
    * Corsiar HX1000W PSU
    * 2HP Rotary Compressor S.S. with CPU and GPU head

    SuperPi 1M run

    SuperPi 32M run

    CPU-Z Validator Screen shot with validation link

    My BIOS Settings - booted with the following and used the EVGA E-Leet program to raise the bclk frequency

    Rig Pics - sorry about the quality, I only have the camera in my phone.

    Refreshments during testing...

    Pretty happy. I think with some better timings on my memory I could bring the 32M run down a little. I would love to have 100 more mhz, I think I would be on top of the W3520 hwbot 1m and 32m superpi times. I am happy with the voltage that was needed too, I thought I would have needed a fair bit more - quite possible for a higher clock speed...

    I hope you enjoyed.

    Is IOH/ICH / I/O Voltage helping? I see you are at 1.725V, never tried rising above the default 1.5V.

    I wouldn't have tried anything else tonight other than 1.725. I will try 1.5 tomorrow and see if it makes any difference. Worth a shot I guess...

    I might be able to. I know that the same sticks have done it in other systems so I cannot really see why not... I can easily do it with the ratio of 2:6 but it gives me a crappy memory frequency...

    Just ordered myself a classified, It should be here before the week's end. I am hoping. i am moving up from a Gigabyte X58 UD5, which was an excellent board, but I need to try the classified and see what it has to offer for overclocking. Any BCLK wall with the classified like the UD5, I couldnt get past 220 for the life of me, and I wasnt going to hardmod the board.
