In all seriousness, im excited to see some form of competition, it drives innovation.
Competition also keeps prices in check, a dud from either camp doesn't help the consumer at all.

True enough. It means that we get less performance(atleast one one side of the ball) and it also means that we have a greater margin between most expensive and most inexpensive. Same goes for performance.

A little birdie mentioned that G300 should be around 2x to 2.2x a GTX285....so rougly like a GTX285 sli situation.

Here is my own comparison from Stalker Clear Sky benchmark @ 1920x1200 Ultra settings, 4xAA and i7 950 @ 4GHz.

    With GTX285 sli = Day Minfps 12.1 Avgfps 33.6 Maxfps 79.2
    Night Min 17.7 Avg 43.1 Max 85.3
    Rain Min 16.8 Avg 45.8 Max 85.3
    SunShafts Nin 14.4 Avg 30.1 Max 55.8

    With single 5870 = Day Minfps 14.9 Avgfps 36.5 Maxfps 66.6
    Night Min 15.1 Avg 39.2 Max 61.4
    Rain Min 16.0 Avg 43.5 Max 60.5
    SunShafts Min 18.8 Avg 27.0 Max 41.6

The 5870x2 will CRUSH the G300 without doubt!

    Where are the results from?
It will be twice that of a gtx285 according to your "birdie"... you just did GTX285 SLI which we know isn't perfect scaling.

    Sorry... not correct.

    LULZ @ calling 2 - 2.2x performance "SLI-like"
ROFLMAO @ bringing in a poorly coded performance hog game as a base for SLI performance numbers

x2 cards suck no matter what. If G300 can really do about 2-2.5x GTX 285 for something below $500 it's my next card. SLI sucks. CF sucks.

For high-end, I am willing to sacrifice some FPS in exchange for stability in games. I remember my 8800GT SLI days and it was the absolute worst PC gaming experience I've ever had.

"SLI (or CF) doesn't work in this game I hope theres some patch coming on the way"
"God damnit I see 70 FPS but it feels like 30." even if the microstuttering problem is solved I'll still feel like timedemoing every game before actually playing it.
