Yeah, I normally have a problem with the second CPU test in 3D06 but not with the 965, well not lately anyway.
I have the low volt OCZ platinum’s, the tri-channel kit. I also use them with the Intel i7 920 D0 and they overclock very well in that platform.
    Good Luck.

CPU test is more NB/Core related....

The last 2 game tests failing ram is usually the culprit.....

GT 2 is usually card clocks.

theoldtime and equinox1, you guys are both bottlenecked by your cpu. Remember how macci SF3D and Sampsa ran their system with 2x 4870x2? Even at 6GHz putting the cards on cold barely helped. The system was still bottlenecked by the cpu!

What i'm trying to say, when you're on the edge of stability you'd better sacrifice some card clocks instead of cpu clocks.

Preety much, sacrifice some ram clocks to, slamming ram causes cpu to be less stable and really get you no where point wise......

I ran my elipidas tight and just over 1600 in the giga comp.

Get rid of win 7 as well.....its slower than vista in 06 and dual 4870x2.cfg sure the cpu score is higher but the GT's more than make up for it

Here's an updated score that I liked. 720BE grass roots Ocing at its best, ddr II still has some life left in it

Great result Chew* ... I'm sitting at 32K with 2 cards. Could not do 5.6Ghz stable with the two cards, but I think it was my pot not really pulling in the cold as fast as the CPU heat it up....or the chip not being that great. Anyways. Great result.

Yah I have been using Aarons pot from ln2cooling.com exclusively as of late......I am consistently hitting about 50 mhz higher on all of my chips with it and noting colder temps of CPU via temps delta.

    That sounds great....

I finally got my other pot, but have not yet tested it with dual cards. It is amazing what a good pot could do with these processors. I only measure temps at the base of the pot.

Pot temps are sort of useless. I have 3 pots which average about the same POT temps.....and all 3 report very diff CPU temps

Temp probe on or in IHS

It will give you a decent delta.....as you will know the Core is actually hotter than IHS.....it will also give you idea of how much swing you have per bench and what temps XXX bench fails at.

Thanx for the tip. And sorry for all the questions, but how would you fit it to the IHS. I mean I tape the probe to the pot.

Use eraser to hold probe against IHS or drill a small hole in IHS

Your score probably went up from going from the 1:4 to the 3:10 divider, plus the extra cpu power.

The 1:4 is slow compared to the 3:10, even when you keep memclocks/timings the same.

    Nice score btw.
